Stores complain you should shop local and then pull crap like this. Their return/exchange policy is unclear and lazy at best, and at worst shady. We’ve shopped here a lot over the years, so this is a slap in the face. The people who have abused the return policy have ruined it for the rest of us with honest intentions, but that doesn’t excuse the fact the policy is not clear at the time of checkout.
I was at Tamarack for a mountain bike race and forgot a pillow at home, no big deal as I need a new pillow for camping anyway, I’ll swing into Ridley’s and buy one. They had two, I bought the scented one in a resealable box and made the mistake of opening it in my truck, which was such a strong scent it immediately gave me a headache. I promptly exchanged it for the only other pillow they sold, which was in a sealed bag. I drove back to camp and discovered upon opening it that it was a strong “new car smell” type of scent, which gave me a headache that night, to boot it was also the most uncomfortable memory foam I’ve experienced. I checked my receipt which had nothing noted about returning bedding so I went back on day 2 when I had time. I double-checked the checkout register and it had only mentions of swimwear not being returnable.
After chatting with a few folks who then brought over the store manager (Drew?), he was a nice guy but said no returns. I stated it’s not clear on the receipt like any decent sized stores (where on the bottom or back there are terms for returns/exchanges of certain items), he just said tough luck and that was that. I asked if I could just do store credit and buy something else, because this was a sunk $30 at this point, and he said no. I stated I had intentions of keeping the pillow, but that it had a couple issues and I’ve only had it 2 days, because it was a bad pillow I felt I should be able to at least have an exception or store credit (to keep that money in the store), again he said no.
If you shop here you better be damn certain you’re keeping the items, or just shop online.

Read moreDrove up from Boise to order a cake for my Moms birthday. The bakery looked empty so I asked the produce guy who happened to be standing next to me if he knew if anyone was in the bakery. He rudely said “I don’t know, go ask the deli.” I walked over to the deli and asked the 3 gals and one of them sharply told me the bakery was closed and asked what I needed. When I said I wanted to do a cake order, she let out a heavy sigh and said someone would help me in a moment. Another deli employee came over and filled out my order. I’m pretty appalled at the rudeness and cold attitudes of the employees here. And it would be helpful to your customers to post the hours of the bakery so we are aware of when they’re open. I’m a regular shopper of Ridleys where I live, but the next time I come to McCall, I’ll take my business to Albertsons
Update: Cake was a complete screw up! I ordered a two layer with filling and got a single layer. No filling. I wasn’t the one who picked it up, otherwise I wouldn’t have left without having them fixing it. I asked for flowers, there was three little flowers in one corner. The icing was way too sugary and had had a weird stale taste. We ended up throwing it in the trash. I will be contacting Corporate about this because this is unacceptable! I ordered this cake for a special occasion a whole week in advance and there was absolutely zero effort made. It was obvious the decorator did NOT look at the order sheet to even notice I wanted a double layer. What I ended up with was a single layer that was basically thrown together with...
Read moreBroken Scale at self checkout. I ringed up one apple and it charged me $5.50 and said it weighed 1.3lbs. I called the clerk over and asked if he could fix it and he thought it was correct as if a normal apple weighs that much. I went to weigh the apple on the produce scale afterwards and it was less than half a pound. Also, the store doesn’t let you use their advantage card even though this is a tourist destination with a fair amount of people not having cards. Even after asking the clerk nicely if I could use a card since I’m from across the country, he says no and says it’s against store policy. I’ve been to many grocery stores in places and every single one has been nice enough to let me use a store card if...
