After waiting in the car with my two young children for 20 min only for the app then to tell me that nobody was available to bring my order (previously said somebody was coming out), I got my kids out of the car and we all went inside—I was not in a place to do this, as I had a stomach ailment. Not only was there nobody in sight to help inside, but the poor cashier flagged down somebody to help me, and they clocked out and walked right past us. The cashier then paged somebody, while ringing (bless him), and the girl came with a cart to the front. She then proceeded to take all of our groceries out of her curbside pickup carriage and leave me with several bags of groceries and no carriage to bring things outside with my children. I politely asked if she couldn’t come with us with her carriage, as I couldn’t get everything and my children to the car safely. She told me, “We have carriages outside.” There was a tone. I told her I did not have change to put a quarter into a carriage. She looked at me like I had two heads. “I ordered curbside pickup…I don’t have change on me.” She shrugged at me. I saw a carriage sitting unused off to the side and asked if I could use that one. She got that carriage, and very rudely pushed it towards me and left without helping me put the groceries into it or saying another word to me. All of this after paying a fee to pickup. This isn’t even to mention 21 refunds and replacements out of my 36 item order. So beyond unimpressed every time I’m at this store. I will no longer be shopping here or recommending that people do so. Thoroughly disappointed. Incredibly upset by these...
Read moreInteresting store with some good deals. Not huge but bigger than it looks at first. Produce section is fairly small and they often run out of common things like bananas. Produce quality and prices are ok. The main reason to come here is their own store-brand products which are super affordable. Many things from crackers, candy, cereal, canned soups, to frozen meals. Quality is mostly good although some things are better than others (I liked the chips, didn't care for the salsa or pickles). They have most of the basics and some fun/unique products (mostly imported from Europe) but some standard things seem to be missing (I couldn't find plain, unflavored yogurt, for example). For produce I'd personally rather shop the sales at standard supermarkets (Market Basket etc.) because the quality and selection tend to be better there, and the produce prices at Aldi aren't significantly lower, in my experience. But I do think it's a good place to stock up on packaged foods, cheese, and frozen stuff. Some quirks to know: Carts are stored outside and you have to insert a quarter to unlock one (which you get back when you return it). They don't have shopping baskets. They don't bag your stuff, they put it into another cart as they check you out and then there's an area at the front of the store where you can bag your stuff yourself. I think they sell paper bags but better to bring your own. I hate the traffic and busy roads in this area, but the large plaza has...
Read moreAldi's hit-or-miss grocery shopping. I can buy hot dogs but I can't buy the Buns. You can buy tomato paste but you can't buy canned tomatoes. Flavored Waters one week plenty then they're gone for a month. You find that with a lot of inventory there hit or miss. Also I advice checking the packages carefully several times I've been stiffed with packaging that appears had been opened. . Purchased 8 pack of hamburger rolls only to find seven . Loaf of bread with holes in the bread obvious somebody poke a finger right in the package. Purchase three packages of bacon one package that had a bad vacuum sealed had to throw it away. For the longest time no one could beat their prices. that was the big attraction shopping there low prices. A lot of the products not brand name but a can of corn is a can of corn. Shopping there now is similar to other grocery store .I don't know if it has to do with the pandemic? but I'm not saving much money anymore if at all. . I did notice a big price spike after they remodeled the store at Wellington Circle Medford Mass. . Pros and cons Pros how fast cashiers are at the checkout. The con I can never successfully finish all my grocery shopping at that store. Con you cannot call the store directly if you have an issue with your purchase . . You have to go through a email process through corporate headquarters. There saying thats cost-saving to the consumer. But how much savings is there to me ? when I have to throw...
