Maybe one star is a little harsh, because I've been to this location and many other locations including the original before, and usually had a good or great experience. But this time was so bad, I couldn't ignore it, and the customer service wasnt great either.
I called the Medford location and ordered 2 pizzas. I knew it would be busy because it was 7 PM on Valentine's day, but I didnt expect the service or the quality to plunge so far down the drain. The pizzas took forever which was understandable, but the whole service area and kitchen areas were a mess. The pizzas were ridiculously undercooked, watery, sloppy and nothing like what I had experienced at Pizzeria Regina before. I tried to eat a piece and realized that the dough was raw and had been sitting in a puddle of water from the veggies on top of the pizza. I took a few bites but could not finish it.
I called and asked to speak to a manager who was nice, but proceeded to tell me that he couldn't refund my money. What he could do was make me 2 new pizzas if I was willing to go drive back there (20 minutes )with the old ones. No discount or anything for my inconvenience, but whatever. He then asked me what kind of pizzas I ordered and I told him. To which he said something along the lines of, well that's the problem, you ordered the veggie pizza. Those are always watery and messy, and even if I make you another one, it will still be watery and soupy. Why would a pizza place purposefully sell a watery gross pizza, especially for $25 each.
Both my girlfriend and I ended up feeling sick and nauseous after eating the small amount that we ate. Full disclosure, my 2 year old had a stomach bug the day before, so that could have been the reason for the nausea, but it just seemed like quite the coincidence that we both got sick immediately after eating the pizza.
Either way, I guess the "best pizza place in Boston" sells watery, soupy pizzas with mushy centers on purpose? That's news to me, because I always thought they were known for having a good crust and great toppings. I guess I'll never be going back, because even if they make my pizza properly, it's going to be disgusting and dripping with...
Read moreGood! but not nearly as great or quick servicewise as the Original North End Location, although they DO offer a MUCH bigger variety on the Menu here i find it VERY puzzling that they do NOT offer a Ravioli Dinner as most other locations including their Woburn Polcaris Restaurant does they have a pretty big pasta wine meat pizza ( obviously) selection i just wish it had MORE options being an Italian-American restaurant they are bit other than that if you want to avoid the LONG lines /wait times this is where you should consider as an Alternative: right on Route 16/28 I 93 is JUST down the Road as well as Wellington Circle Plaza & Assembly Row just 5 short minute Walk from Wellington Station Buses & the Orange Line as well as PLENTY of Shopping Options not far in this very area and around. service as mentioned for the most part is very good they will seat you almost right away depending on capacity and will check on you/ bring you your food promptly and lastly the food / pizza which is ALWAYS no matter which Regina Pizzeria your at is close to 80-90% ON THE SPOT and ON POINT no matter what you order from the Pizza Pasta Wine Entrees meat or whatever it will arrive fresh full of flavor and will easily satisfy your needs so come on in have a seat sit down relax and enjoy your meal / the Atmosphere and its ALWAYS a great spot to have a drink at the Bar and catch the game you can NEVER go wrong here at this Regina or any for that matter! try it out its better than most people say it is! and ive only been here about 4-5 times now but have always loved the food/service i receive its like being a part of the Polcari family...
Read moreWe’ve always enjoyed coming to this pizza place — the food is generally good, and the atmosphere is nice. But unfortunately, tonight we had a really unpleasant experience with one of the staff members, which made us reconsider our view of this restaurant.
After having dinner and leaving a good tip, I noticed I had some points in my Regina pizza app that were about to expire. So, before leaving, we went to the takeaway counter, placed an order for a dessert using the points, and paid the remaining balance right there. Since it was just a quick takeaway order, we didn’t leave another tip.
From that moment, the cashier’s attitude completely changed. We waited for about 15 minutes for a dessert that was already prepared. When I politely asked how much longer it might take, the cashier ignored me, walked over, grabbed the dessert that had been sitting there the whole time, and practically tossed it to me. When I calmly mentioned that it had already been ready, they turned away without saying a word.
We’ve always tipped well when dining here, but the way they acted this time made us feel like we’d done something wrong. It was really disappointing and left a bad impression after what was otherwise...
