Pros: ||Clean comfortable room. Full size refrigerator was nice for saving dinner leftovers and groceries from the nearby Trader Joe’s in Assembly Row.||||Spacious breakfast area. You could easily find a place to sit and not be crowded together||||Great, friendly staff. I’m going to mention Meghan by name because she helped us with everything. She was able to get us checked in early, and was willing to store luggage if a room wasn’t available. Most importantly, she helped us with extending our stay when plans changed. And she had a lot of local knowledge about the trains and things in the area.||||Water and ice stations near elevator on each floor||||Lemon water, coffee and tea available most of the day in the breakfast area||||Workout room was large and well equipped with weights, yoga balls, and mats. It wasn’t just treadmills and ellipticals.||||Location is nice, with some dining within a very short walk. There are also paved trails to go for a run or walk. One T stop away is Assembly Row with all sorts of shopping, dining and entertainment.||||Meh (Not great, not bad):||Needed to use your key card to use the elevator. It’s good for security, but kind of a pain when you’re just going to breakfast or coming back from a run||||Distance from Wellington station, but that’s MBTAs fault. If you’re taking the trains from the airport, know that you will have to bring your luggage over a very long skywalk from the T station, through a parking garage and across the street to the hotel. That said, it's closer to a T station than a lot of other hotels.||||||Cons: ||||A bit loud. Traffic was audible with the windows closed. You could generally hear people talking in the hallway when they walked by. I clearly heard a very irate person across the hall when housekeeping came too early in the morning for his liking.||||No pool, which really would have been nice after a long day walking the Freedom Trail. We knew that going in, but the impact really didn’t hit until a long day of walking downtown.||||||Overall: Loved the stay and the staff. Planning to use this as our Boston base of operations...
Read moreReferring to the first reviewer... The 'new car' smell is gone. No issues with chemical or other smells.||||Nice hotel. Personable and welcoming staff. Well appointed rooms, including a kitchen area with a large fridge, a dishwasher and a single burner glass cooktop. Walking distance to the T (Orange Line). Plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance, both in the same multi-use area where the hotel is as well as about a 15 minute walk to the much larger Assembly Row. ||||Couple things, one easily fixable...||||There is a work desk. As with many hotel lamps, there's a USB and AC outlet on them. The nightstand lamps had both. The desk lamp, where it might be most useful? Nothing. Odd.||||The other is something I'm not sure can be easily fixed. That's where the TV is placed. Though rooms might be a mirror image of ours, when you walk in, there's the kitchen and bathroom area. The wall to the left has the desk and a full size (and presumably pull out) couch. Not sure how it pulls out as it would seem to run into the the bed. Maybe it just opens up the long way to make a double that's very tight to the bed. The far wall is the window. The right wall has a king size bed, nightstands either side and a small chair tight to the far nightstand. The near wall has a dresser. And that's where the TV is. You can turn it, but if you're watching from bed, you have to look about 70-80 degrees to your left. The placement does work from the couch, I guess. As I said, odd, though I don't know what a solution would be. ||||The most important thing for us is that it's also convenient to our daughter when we come to visit. But you can also be in Boston in 15 minutes. And you don't have to drive in as the T is very close by. I highly...
Read moreThis review is so long overdue... I hope that it is still ok to post. When moving our son into his apartment, we ended up needing a last minute room. (we didn't have the furniture in his apt ready for guests!) So I was looking for one room for one night on albeit, the most popular move-in weekend in the boston area. I also had some points to use. Found this hotel and all was great. Location is fine... close enough, but a little away from hot spots but not too far. |When we arrived around 9pm or so... we went to check-in. there was a bit of a wait but hey... all was good.|Finally got our check in - front desk person was an absolutely lovely person named naidaliz. She told us about parking and ... the only space available was in a garage that our car would not fit into... (we had a large roofrack container - remember the move-in I mentioned earlier?) |Well, I came back in and asked if there was any other parking becuase our car would not fit into the garage. She said, "wait! I'll move my car!!!" What?|This lovely young lady moved her car from the surface lot so we could park. |This is the kind of person that Marriott should keep and promote! I hope she is still with Marriott! |Signed -|lifetime platinum...
