The clothes are nice, but not always accommodating for me as a taller, yet slimmer adult. The quality of their casual clothing is nice, but often not worth the extra expenses. Especially when compared to other fine cloting stores like TMW where quality matches the prices. Still JCPenny offers a broad selection you cannot often find elsewhere, and a variety of household goods that are beautifully designed, and functional! For me it is never a one stop shop, but part of a triad with Macy's and Kolhs. I almost decided upon a 3 star review. The staff fluctuates often. The amount of support each member can offer a customer is extreamly limited. Often times customers are left to aimlessly explore the large store, and whenever help is needed its often meet with ignorance, or a half-hearted point in a direction. The staff I have meet could not even collect proper measurements. Let alone find measuring tape. I consider this to be shameful, but I hope it isnt always the case. Since I like the atmosphere they can keep 4 stars - for now. P.S. A great place to find jewelry, so give it a glace next...
   Read moreMy local JCPenney (Medford) cannot figure out how to pick up the phone! I spent two hours being bounced from section to section, sent to voicemail, and being hung up on. Then left my number for a return call from a manager after FINALLY speaking to someone willing to help. All I wanted was to check an online order status. SIX HOURS later I decided to call them as the manager had not called me back. I was greeted with more attitude from workers who seemed to think I was below their jobs. I finally spoke with a new manager who answered my questions. An hour later another store representative calls me in regards to my number being left. I tell her I've actually been helped and thank her. She got an attitude and proceeded to correct me then give me the same information. Overall a really bad experience and I will not be ordering in again. I already am hesitant of this store due to bad service in the past and this just reconfitmsit. Customer service...
   Read moreI am saddened by the way J.C.Penney has gone down hill, the last time I was there was over the holidays. They had more one on one assistance and more people at the registers, and not such a long wait. I had to wait 10 to15 minutes just to get some help to find my size in shoes and then when they didn't have it at least Scott, one of the managers took over and helped me, but instead of having anyone attend from shoes we had to go to jewelry and then there were people who were waiting what seemed like forever for someone to help them. I used to love going in there but now I feel like it's just a glorified Wal mart. I have always loved their sales and specials and the way they used to be so attentive and helpful but not anymore.
