Unique Treasures — Local services in Melbourne

This is one of those stores where if I won a million dollars, I'd spend half of it here. I love this place. They have the coolest stuff. Definitely some unique treasures, that's for sure. The lady that is usually working there is so friendly and nice and welcoming. She's an older lady with amazing style. She just looks fabulous every single time I see her. There's something trustworthy about her, you can tell that she's being her most authentic self. Which is comforting because some of the other stores in the area are definitely sales orientated instead of customer orientated. But personality sells. And she personally greets you every single time you walk in. Even if she has to walk from behind the counter to where you are. They seem to have discounts every single time I go in, who doesn't love that? They also have new stuff every single time. A lot of the time, if you see something you like, it might not be there next time. And they probably won't have it again. Everything is very unique. Most of it I've never seen anywhere else. Their prices are justified. A lot of the stores on this strip are so overpriced that I can't imagine how they make sales. But this store has prices that make sense. When you look at something, and then look at the tag, you're like "Yep, that makes sense". No price gouging. We love that. Definitely feels like a community store and I like that. While I like a lot of the women’s clothes sold here, today I drove almost 30 minutes just to shop here for a new outfit for my birthday tomorrow & they were closed. It is 10:43 am now & the door sign says they are open Friday at 10:00. Lights are off & no sign on the door saying they are closed. The Google info for them has a green OPEN notation too. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me with Unique Treasures. Very disappointing. I’m not sure I’ll take another chance.

UPDATE: After receiving a response from Kathi, the owner of Unique Treasures, I dropped by the store today. I didn’t tell anyone who I was until I was checking out. I was immediately greeted by Donna when I walked into the store. She told me about the sales today. Donna was helpful throughout my visit. Thank you for your sincere response. Every year when I visit my sister in Melbourne, a stop at Unique Treasures is an absolute must! This incredible women’s clothing boutique never disappoints—I always return home with a suitcase full of stunning dresses, stylish tops, elegant shrugs, beautiful jewelry, and this year, a gorgeous Kentucky Derby hat. In fact, some years, I even have to purchase an extra suitcase just to bring home all my fabulous finds! Their prices are amazing, making it even more tempting to stock up. The owner’s husband even showed me how to fold my hat perfectly so it could fit in my backpack for the flight home—such thoughtful service!
