I'm not one to usually comment about comparatives between restaurants or their food item....but after eating at The Burger Place last night with my wife, I will say, without reservation, that they serve the ABSOLUTLY WORST french fries I have ever eaten.
Why? Many of the french fries were short, around 1/2" to 1" in length and a width of 1/16" to 1/8" in diameter. I know this sounds incredible.... a french that small is not even worth the energy to gather but that is the reality. As such, I left most of them in the basket.
I realize that the restaurant business is challenging but if you really want to make your customer happy...and return, don't offer your customers the lowest grade french fries offered by your suppliers. Sure, it offers a bigger profit margin to the owner but customer want something that they will remember, in a positive way. These french fries, along with the money we spent to purchase them, simple got dumped in the trash can when we left.
There were some positives....the service was efficient and friendly with nearby tables cleaned soon after customers left. I like the open kitchen and the staff was working hard to serve their customers which they did well. I like hot food and my burger and french fries arrive HOT, literally right off the stove and out of the frier, that's a sign of a well trained staff and kudos to them and the manager for making that part of the visit last night enjoyable in...
Read moreI truly don't understand why people rate this establishment any lower than a 4. They say the service is "Bad, Sub-par, or even terrible". The service is amazing, I've always been greeted with a smile, I've always been treated to an up-beat and positive attitude, and they sure haven't been rude to me. Then people start complaining about the food, acting like you can't get other options aside from a Well-done burger. Newsflash: You can get the burger cooked however you like they just do Well-done because that's how burgers are typically cooked everywhere. The business is simply serving what most people want, you want it different? Get it different. They also say it's not worth the price, but the Burger Place's 4 oz. option is plentiful for dinner. On top of all this, some still put out hateful comments on the aesthetic of the building. IT'S MEANT TO LOOK OLD FASHIONED. If they wanted to look modern, they would. But that's not the vibe they were going for to begin with. They meant to go for the old school and retro feel, and nailed it on the head. All in all, this place is genuinely amazing, and I've never not enjoyed a meal here. Shakes, burgers, fries, everything is delicious. You wanna be picky? If this place doesn't have something you like, go home and eat your microwavable chicken tenders. Been going here since I was a kid, and I will never stop saying this location does in fact deserve the title of "THE...
Read moreSo me and my buddy are doing the downtown Melbourne restaurant gauntlet. Over the last few weeks we have been choosing a different restaurant to eat lunch and hang out.
We arrived at 11:35 on a Thursday and the place was not busy at all. We were, according to our order number, the 13th order of the day. Both of us had burgers and shared a large fries.
Understand this, and you should totally be aware of this before going in. All of the food at this place is cooked to order. You are going to have to wait for your food, and it’s not going to be super fast. We knew this going in and it wasn’t a surprise to me that our food took almost 25 minutes to come to us.
Now onto the food. Both of our burgers were well done. But they were still surprisingly juicy. I had a bacon cheeseburger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My buddy had a regular cheeseburger with mushrooms and onions.
And here’s where the 1 star deduction comes in. The fries, although crispy, were like the bottom of a bag of fries. Just small pieces of fries that were not even able to be picked up to dip. I ended up with the option of using a fork and stabbing them. They were also on the greasy side. Good seasoning but a bit greasy.
We left around 12:30 and the line was out the door and down the street. Maybe 15-20 people deep. A very popular lunch spot. I’d make sure you have at least an hour to order and eat.
Overall,...
