My first visit to Dental Work -Park Avenue was to replace a broken bridge. My tooth under my broken bridge had a hole in it . I was surprised Dr James Dietz didn’t fill the hole in before replacing the broken bridge .. My second visit I had pain in one of my bottom tooth on the left side of my mouth . I pointed to the tooth that was given me the pain and Dr. Dietz told me he didn’t see anything wrong with that tooth . He pointed to a tooth that had a root canal done 30 years ago and I had no pain from . He convinced me that I needed a crown put on that tooth . I kept telling him that tooth wasn’t the problem but the pain was so severe I let him put a crown on a painless tooth . I went back to Dr. Dietz on two different occasions complaining that the tooth I complained about was still hurting and I was experiencing pain from my bridge. Dr Dietz gave me a fluoride treatment and shave my tooth and told me to use sensitive toothpaste. I went back to Dr. Dietz a third time for the pain . I don’t know why I kept going back . I guess I had paid too much money to stop . The pain would come and go . I had to buy and use Orajel toothache mouth wash to control my pain . I notice I had a cavity under my bridge on my top left side . Dr. Dietz looked at my bridge and told me he didn’t see anything wrong with my bridge. I told him I wanted the bridge removed because I could taste the cavity. Dr. Dietz cut my good bridge off and told me I was right I did have cavity under my bridge. Dr. Dietz clean the cavity out of my tooth but he didn’t fill in the hole. I asked him why he wasn’t filling in the holes in my tooth. He said it was because the bridge was going to cover the tooth up . These treatments was done in July - September. Dr . Dietz assistant told I didn’t have any more money left on my insurance for treatment. I had to wait until January 2025 . I kept using the Orajel mouthwash and brushing with sensitive toothpaste to deal with the severe pain . January I call Dr. Dietz about the pain. He wanted me to make an appointment for him to look at my mouth again for the same problem. Each time I came in for an evaluation he charge me for an existing problem . Each visit was the same old situation, he could see why I was having pain . I told him if he had closed in the hole on my bridges and dealt with the tooth I told was hurting . I probably wouldn’t be having pain . I told him I was getting food stuck in the back of my top left bridge and I had to use a tooth pick to remove the food . I told Dr.Dietz I wanted my money back because he didn’t want to remove my bridges and fill in the holes that he left exposed in my mouth . Dr. Dietz told me to make an appointment with Mid South Endodontics Germantown before he could give my money back . He wanted a second opinion. I made an appointment and when I got there the doctor was trying to do a root canal on the left top bridge back tooth cause that was the tooth that had the cavity that Dr Dietz left exposed. Dr. Dietz didn’t want a second opinion. He was trying to do a cover up by cutting the nerve off the exposed tooth to eliminate the pain I was having. I told the Dr I wasn’t going to get a root canal on that tooth because Dr Dietz should have closed the hole up . I told the doctor about the bottom tooth that I told Dr Dietz about and he but a root canal on that same tooth I told Dr Dietz the pain was coming from . I now know the reason Dr Dietz put a crown on a painless tooth it was because he isn’t qualified to do root canal. I AM STILL IN SEVERE PAIN WAITING ON DR DIETZ TO CORRECT...
Read moreBE AWARE!! I went to this office and had two crowns done on my front teeth. I already had some crowns, at the top and the bottom of my mouth. Each time I went to have my teeth cleaned, the hygienist would tell me how nice my crowns were, and how well I had taken care of them. She wanted to know, how I had kept my bridges in such good shape. I had my teeth cleaned twice at this office, after having the crowns done last year at this office. This time (three weeks ago) the hygienist X-rayed (I don’t know why she x-rayed my teeth, I was not due a x-ray and did not ask for one)and then cleaned my teeth, using one of those little magnifying mirrors that the dentist usually use when examining your teeth, she then proceeded cleaning my teeth so rough , pulling, and picking on the sealants of my top bridge causing me pain while cleaning my teeth and doing damage to that bridge. At the time, I could not figure out why she was pressing and pulling so hard on my top bridge, causing deep pain that almost caused me to blank out, during a simple cleaning. I also noticed later she had picked and pulled, putting little hole on one of my other crown near the gum. Since that cleaning my top bridge has never stop throbbing, and the back of it has been broken, it was not broken when I went there that morning. Once the sealant on a bridge or crown is broken or damage you will have to replace it. When she finished cleaning my teeth, I discovered my bridges at the bottom and top of my mouth had been damaged and my gum were swollen for several days after that cleaning. As of today, from that cleaning my gum are still sore and has never felt the same. If I had been a white person, I don’t believe, the hygienist would have damaged my bridges, where is her moral values and integrity. Now I am having to spend over $2500 out of pocket to correct the damage done by having my teeth cleaned at this office. I truly believe that my crowns were damage intentionally by the dental hygienist for financial gain (for me to come back and get new bridges, which would cost $3,600). I just had those crowns redone in 2019 and 2020 by a different office. I wish I had never gone to them. Instead of them helping me to preserve my teeth, they were doing damage to my teeth. Please also keep track of your payments on your account. I paid them $1600 while waiting to get authorization from my insurance company to pay 50% of that cost. Once the insurance paid them. I was supposed to get $800 back. It had been about 3 months after the insurance had paid them, they never notified me that the insurance company had paid them. I had to call my insurance company to find that out. After that I had to call them for two months, every other week before I got my $800. If I had never call to check on my reimbursement, I believe, I would not have gotten my money back. I was not going to write this review, but if it helps someone to be aware and cautious, and not end up with damage teeth, bridges or crowns it’s worth my time. I won’t be going back there for any...
Read moreHave been using Dental/Works in the past & was happy with the actual Dentist he was okay but, the location I previously went to on Austinpeay. I just switched to the Park Ave location and have only been there once. However it was a totally different experience. I was a bit nervous which is normal when going to dentist office but the atmosphere at the Park Ave location was so surprisingly different much more relaxing & I can’t say enough about the WHOLE office staff in general. They could not have been nicer it was like night & day compared to the other branch. Where unfortunately they do not really treat you as people. Don’t hey me wrong the actual Dentist that worked on me was a very very nice man but, it felt like he didn’t even have a say about anything else that went on in the office it was like 1 of the techs ran the whole office & everyone else was run by them & deferred to her about anything you couldn’t even speak to ANY other Employee without her knowledge or interference & unfortunately made the whole experience VERY uncomfortable & dreaded going in each time & I did have to go over a year to complete procedure. I’ve just started at the Park Ave location & after only 1 appointment the atmosphere is so much better & I’m no longer dreading to go in & finally get the work done that I should have done continually at the other place but, was so uncomfortable going in I unfortunately put off. I only wish I would’ve known about the office at 5180 Park Ave long before now. The Dentist office in general may not be one of my favorite places to go but I never minded going before & I was never terrified to go until my experience at the Austin Peay location & am just so relieved to have found the Park Ave location. Before going to either DentalWorks I’d only been to 1 Dentist for more than 50 years & had never known why so many people were afraid of Dentist’s till that Austin Peay office but, again to make it clear the Dentist there was very nice but unfortunately was in no way had any say of what went on in the office & also deferred to the Tech & basically if I had any questions even for the lab workers as well as front desk & also billing dept. They all deferred to this very scary & abrupt Dental tech. I’m just glad I did find the other location as well as finally getting the nerve to show up for the appointment since I was very apprehensive because of the experience I went thru at the other office. I’m so relieved I finally did & can’t wait to be able to eat somewhat normally again. I really want to Thank the Park Ave office even though I haven’t had anything done yet except that they’ve quelled my fears & I can hopefully move on & look forward to no longer fear going to the Dentist again. So I just wanted to thank you all in advance for making me...
