On memorial Day weekend I attended a family reunion dinner at this Perkins. They had made reservations well in advance and yet when the guest started to arrive and it was around 5:30 on a Friday with heavy traffic and people from Allentown having problems locating and maneuvering to this restaurant. The first thing that was said by the manager which was also going to be our server said she had been there since 7:00 this morning and was wondering when our party would be arriving we explain the situation and she said that she had a new system that she was having to work with and was the only one that could manage the party maybe they should have said something in advance. Two make myself clear the food was good The service was decent but when you have a problem you try to minimalize it and for sure don't complain about it to your customers. The food was good not excellent and I had country fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans and was told that there were no dinner rolls or accompanying Brad items for dinner I looked shocked she said she had sold out earlier to a catering party bad planning on their part knowing they were having this dinner reservation. Once again that being said she managed to find a few I'm almost scared to ask where they came from. But one of the biggest problems I had were the restrooms no paper towels very much in disarray and in need of a good cleaning I informed the staff about the paper towels not once not twice but three times and then made a fuss about it leaving the restaurant saying that was a little unsanitary. I will not be returning to this location management needs more training I don't care how many years you've been there there's a right way in a wrong way of doing things. I manage Kings Palace on Beale Street for over 6 years and there are just things you do not say to customers! And in this day and time cleanliness is next to godliness should be the motto for every restaurant or any other place that sells food including grocery stores it's literally a law! My recommendations don't make dinner plans with a party at this location staff needs to undergo training for sure! Definitely not the Perkins experience that I've remembered in the past oh hell time has changed things. Would definitely recommend paying a little bit more and going to a better establishment and always double check to make sure that they have enough staff and food talking about the roles and someone just to refill drinks on hand for the party. The manager acted as if this was her personal restaurant I can see taking pride but she made it sound like she was a slave to hit and having to even bring in her family and making an entire show of it pointing out her son not professional not in...
Read moreTypically we have a great experience at this restaurant so my sister and I took our parents there. Host staff was fabulous, took our names quickly. We sat down and the table was a bit sticky but the gentleman bussing tables helped us out super quick so there was no more syrup on the table or chair. But that is when the experience headed a different direction. Today during brunchtime, the waitress made it very clear she had no interest in assisting us. It started when we sat down and she refused to look at any of us when she wrote the order down and visibly showed annoyance when writing the order down and being asked to repeat her question due to my parents being old & the restaurant noisy due to it being busy. No worries there, we apologized to our parents and thought, it's just busy. Next, the coffee came out. It appeared to be in a decaf pot but she assured us it was not decaf. The coffee tasted bad, not sure if it could have been decaf or just a bad batch of coffee. Waiting for the waitress to return after a while, she simply didn't, so we finally asked another waiter to see if it could have been mixed up. He was incredibly kind and said even though it had the decaf top she could have refilled it so it was regular coffee and then said he would let our waitress know. She then returned, slammed the coffee pot back on the table, and in barely a breath, as she slammed it down said "I refilled it." Again without looking at any of us and walked away immediately, not leaving any ability for us to say, 'well darn, it tastes bad today, let's switch it out for an orange juice'. As expected, after being shown repeatedly that we were not worth her time, we took her lead and headed out. I let the hostess know that it was clear our waitress had no interest in assisting us, let her know we had ordered but were leaving and offered to pay for the coffee. She was also incredibly kind and just shook her head that no we did not need to pay and apologized for the experience. I can't say I won't go back but I will certainly make sure to not sit in her...
Read moreFreaking ridiculous...we got there at 11:30 this morning. The hostess takes our number says she'll text us but it should be about 5min. After 10m and the 4 families that arrived after us got seated BEFORE us my husband inquired about our table. She says well I texted yall and you didn't respond so I moved on. But we literally were sitting right behind her. After we get seated our waitress takes our order at 11:50 and brought our drinks and disappeared. She had forgotten where we were sitting WHEN I FOUND HER. Our food came out at 12:30 and was cold. My husband's pancakes had been microwaved. His eggs were not fresh they had been sitting and my food which was the spinach and mushrooms skillet was cold. I asked for a manager which this short lady (she looked Hispanic) asked me what was the problem. When I stated the issue she didn't apologize or nothing she instantly started to tell me that they are short staffed and the cook time are crazy. Which at this point that may have been possible to some point but we sat and watched two families come in and a lady that sat across from us order and received their food. The lady across from us ordered, got her food, ate and left. And we STILL hadn't received ours! Now, if the waitress wasn't so busy bashing and bad mouthing her coworker maybe she could've focused better on her tables. The management needs to step their game up as well. I understand that some places are short handed and needs help but this was simple poor service on the waitress and a lackadaisical attitude by the lady manager. *Disclamier- I HAD to give a star rating in order to post so the one...
