I placed a very small order for pickup today. I received very good communication via email and the online system was good. The breakdown came when dealing with actual people at Micahel's. There were posters on the front door to call for pickup. I called the number and found it was an automated store number. After listening to the non pertinent info, it started to ring. As I'm calling, I see through the window one staff member sitting on a stool at the checkout register. I placed my printed invoice on the window indicating I wished to pickup....she motioned to call her on the phone. Despite the phone ringing on my end, she didn't pick up. Another woman came to the window and told me she would get the order and bring it to my car, that I should get in line. I'd parked 100 feet out in the parking lot and was standing outside their door on blue "x" 6' from the door. I let her know she could drop it on the ground and I'd pick it up if she was worried about contact with all the Covid stuff going on. A minute or so later she reappeared with my order and proceeded to burn holes through me with her eyes. I thanked her but she didn't respond. I don't think Covid brought out the best in either of us. It does seems that now is a good time to be kind and work hard if you are fortunate enough...
Read moreWent to pick up a UPS package. Approached an employee and informed him that I was picking up a package. He directed me to a row of baskets against the wall that housed packages. I asked him if I needed to show my identification. He stated no. So I proceeded to the pick up wall. Looked for my name,didn't see it. He saw that I was having an issue with finding my package. No package to be found. So other employees noticed that I was getting frustrated, because I had a notification on my phone. That it was delivered the day before. And how many days it would be held at the store. Anywho,the manager came to see if she could help solve the issue. She could not. She asked me if I was at the right store. I felt myself getting very upset. So I went outside to calm myself down. Returned back in the store, showed her my email. And that's when her and 3 other employees realized that I was picking up a UPS package and not an in store online order. They all dropped the ball. Because when I entered the store and inquired about picking up an order. I should have been asked if it was a same day pick up or an UPS order. The manager said that they had a lot going on.
