With the onslaught of COVID-19 I tried to do the right thing and used their online app to order pickup food, so far so good. Arrived at the location 10 minutes later to find a line of cars wrapping the building, okay no surprise there and frankly expected. The line inches forward and 15 minutes later I make it to the order station.
Unclear on how this process will proceed I speak into the microphone and tell the cashier my name and order number which was ‘5’. Order number 5? Seriously, this is only the fifth time this process has been used? Even if they reset the sequence everyday it’s 7:00 p.m. and only 5 orders have been placed online? This is a definite sign of a new and unproven process I think to myself!
But to my delight the cashier tells me to proceed to the window. I’ve spent less than 30 seconds at the ordering station. Much less time than what seems to be an average of 5 minutes for the customers in front of me as they scour the menu with their eyes in want of what items to order. This is a sweet ordering online system, I muse, if everyone used it the restaurant could focus on core processes of making and handing out food, lines and wait times would be shorter and customers happier!
I make it to the pickup window after being in line for 25 minutes but I knew what I was signing up for and I’m about to get my anxiously awaited dinner, no hiccups so no big deal. Then things went south, went south quickly. The cashier tells me to exit the drive through line and park in front of the building that ‘my food would be out shortly’.
This is where their new online ordering process collapsed like a wet brown paper bag. Why would I have to park in front of the store for my order? The truck in front of me ordered the same thing that I did only he ordered his at the order station, I heard hi. He pulled up to the window, paid cash, and was handed his food?
Being unfamiliar with their new process, though a little dumbfounded, I dutifully proceeded to exit the drive through but not the drive through experience and park in front of the building. Wondering why the process sent me here my mind started racing with thoughts of being rewarded with super fresh chicken or some other delight from their kitchen for using the new online ordering system.
Thirty minutes later when the last vehicle which was in the takeout line when I parked in front of the building exited the drive through line along with 7 other vehicles my patience was exhausted. Repeated calls to the published telephone number were ignored and all doors locked resulting in only one course of action aimed at resolving this issue sooner than later, walking up the drive through line and inquiring about my order.
Dangerous at best I proceeded to the window and inquired. After several people were questioned it became clear that my order had been missed, simply forgotten about. I was instructed to go back out to my car in the front of the building and wait again, it’ll be right out. Now fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...we’ll you know the rest.
Completely irritated by the staff laughing, that’s right laughing, at the situation they had put me in and taking absolutely no responsibility or offering any apologies I waited for my food at the window. When they brought it to me I exchanged a few very unkind words and vowed to never return.
My experiences at Chick-fil-A have always been pleasant. Not that they don’t occasionally make a mistake but they always take responsibility. And, this is a huge plus, Chick-fil-A’s food is of far superior quality and taste! I will never return to a...
Read moreMy third visit to this Popeyes in Six months. Each visit is has been a total disappointment!. First two visits, out of po-boy bread for shrimp po-boy. Before noon on a Friday.. really? Again out of po-boy bread but on a Tuesday afternoon. There is no urgency to take orders at the drive thru. I have waited on an average over 4 minutes Everytime, without a car in front of me. They do not suggesting sell, reluctant to answer questions when asked. I can only assume it has something to do with their poor attitude towards the customers . Because once the order is placed, not repeated, and the direct demand to pull up instead of offering the total of bill or politely asking to pull through to window. There I have found a near empty restaurant lobby, crew engaged in bickering over having to "drop chicken!" This evening I drop up late, hoping to find a better team , more friendly, it was about 10:35pm... I waited, then I drove around he drive thru twice before pulling up and asking if someone could take my order.. the response was " we close in 4 minutes!" No. It says 11pm. I placed the order, pulled up, paid asked for my dipping sauce and when the order taker asked where she could find ranch. I see an hear a woman in an orange button down Popeyes shirt.. she says " we don't have nothing else.. tell her ....." A" not to ask for anything else. Indeed I have the receipts ans names because I asked to be sure the name on my receipt matched the young lady! I habe been in customer service and food and beverage service for over 20 years. All level of management, and every position before hand. I am from Louisiana, I love Popeyes.. but it is very unfortunate that the store the closest to my house is by far the most unpleasant. So they struck out 3 times and will not get another dime from me on Poplar! Simple " thank you" or "apology for being our of product" would have made a difference... And no one should want to work with a fowl mouthed employee or manager, is what I fear.. wearing a different uniform Shirt han the crew. Nor shall your customers leave worried about food...
Read moreThis location here, is beyond ridiculous when is comes to getting my order right. It has been wrong every single time I go, ever since I've moved to the surrounding area. They always literally forgetting something from my order, it is always has at least 2 to three things missing from my order each time. I choose to go here for the obvious reason, it's the closest and most convenient. But after tonight I definitely refuse to go back to this specific location. I placed an online order and per usual the lobby is closed. I go through the drive through because if you know, you know, at this location. of course it wasn't no big deal. BUT the manager not sure the name proceeded to tell me to pull around and my food would be brought to me, still no big deal, at least I thought. Well 20 minutes goes by and the manager leaves, 45-50 more minutes later i still don't have my food. An hr later, I FINALLY I choose to get out of my vehicle and knock on the door. The associate opens the door and tells me. She literally had no idea what I was waiting on and proceeded to tell me, my order was never taken AND ALSO they had none of the food I ordered, no one even told them I was outside waiting for my food to be delivered. The associate proceeds to tell me there is nothing she can do for me because they had nothing that I ordered and was closing the kitchen down. If closing hrs are 10, why an order placed at 7:40PM is not completed. Make it make sense. I will NEVER go back to this location again. There is always something wrong with my orders but I choose to continue to go only because I am human and I know people make mistakes. But constantly over and over is beyond unacceptable. I find it VERY disrespectful the manager told me to pull around and my food will be brought to me only for no one to have a single clue I was outside waiting. I wasted an hr of my time, this location has A LOT of issues that need to...
