DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!
I had an appointment at 9am to get my dog groomed. She is a 13 year old Labrador Retriever that has been diagnosed with benign tumors, one of which is in her right eye. Her veterinarian has cleared her as safe to be walked and groomed. I have been bringing my dog to this Menifee location for the past two and a half years without having any problems, until today.
As my dog was checked in by a young lady, she was concerned about the tumor on her eye. However, even though I was checked in, she claims that they cannot groom my dog because of the tumor. They were under the assumption that it was bleeding and it cleary wasn't. Just because something is red does not mean that it is bleeding. I also spoke to a manager who was there and expressed to her that I have never had this issue before at any other facility. In addition, I explained to the manager that my dog had been groomed at this location for the past two years.
The manger's excuse was that they did not want to be liable for an "infection" that may occur. My dog's veterinarian once again cleared her to be walked and groomed. There were no changes in her status, all her vaccinations are up to date, and this was the veterinarians report from her last visit which was two days prior to the grooming appointment.
Petco staff was completely unprofessional and uneducated as to what constitutes a clinical diagnosis for a dog. They discrimate against older dogs. Moreover, their staff lacks the sensitivity that it takes to work with animals that are at a disadvantage as a result of a clinical condition.
Petco must invest in training and educating their staff to be sympathetic to animals who are at a disadvantage as a result of an illness. In addition, discriminating against pets who are older shows that this organization does not understand the laws that govern...
Read moreExtremely knowledgeable staff at this Petco. If you have any questions about a specific animal speak with Debbie. She goes out of her way to ensure you have all the information you need and all your questions are answered. Special shout outs to Cindy and Winter (Might have been spelt with a y, I’m so sorry I can’t remember now). All of these employees go above and beyond for the customer and most importantly the animal.
Thanks to these amazing people we were able to welcome our new addition Jellybean (pictured below). We’re extremely excited to start this new adventure with Jelllyyyyyy, and we’re happy to have such an amazing Petco team near us to help support us. Every single employee we talked to today during our 3 hour visit meeting and getting to know Jelly asked us to update them on his progress as he grew. (We’re assuming he’s male based on behavior, he hasn’t been blood tested yet). Jelly is settling into his new environment, slowly and cautiously. Tomorrow is a new day and I’m so excited to get to wake up to Jelly thanks to our local pet co, specifically Debbie, Cindy, and Winter (Wynter?). We honestly can’t thank you all enough.
Petco also price matches their online prices and has their vital care plans which help you save money on your everyday pet needs. Who wouldn’t pay 19.00 a month for $15 dollars in coupons each month on-top of the 10% and 20% coupons that plan gives you access too. When times are hard and prices seem to be rising all around us, it’s nice that a company gives you the...
Read morewe have been taking our dog pepper to this petco for grooming for 15 years. he’s always had a bit of anxiety but it’s never been an issue until recently, especially now that he is a senior dog. Vicky, who has been the one cutting our dogs hair for 15 years always praises pepper when we come to pick him up and tells us what a good boy he is. however, twice now we’ve received a call for us to come pick him up after he pooped in the tub while getting washed. the first time was a few months ago, and then again today. embarrassing for sure, but understandable considering his age. when my mother went to pick pepper up, they told her that he is no longer ALLOWED to get his haircut there. if this has happened more than the two times that we are aware of, no one has informed us. if he had ever been aggressive with them (which he never has, at least to our knowledge) i would understand this more. when my mom went to go pick up pepper today, Vicky would not come outside and explain her reasoning to her as to why she won’t see our dog anymore. for all these years, we have really enjoyed Vicky and she has always done a great job but this seems unreasonable and extremely disrespectful to not even come out and face my mother and explain why. now after 15 years, we have to find somewhere else to take him. very...
