Okay first off, if you read most of my ratings across Google and wherever else I may have left reviews, very rarely do I leave negative comments. I've had many jobs Since the age of 16 when minimum wage is $4.25 an hour. I finally found my niche in construction where I have remained in my career. Along my journey however, I've been in retail most of my life even as far as the store manager for Toys r Us Zumiez etc... I do know firsthand customer service and how hard it is to apply the rules listen to the customer Do what you know you can do in your scope and when to ask for help. It's really not easy especially if customers are mean to you or raising their voice things like that You could imagine Toys r Us during Christmas time when you're on a 16-hour shift. Long story short customers we're always in the forefront, they were priority.
So I came into this Staples too ship out one small package and purchase some other small items. They have a UPS store in this Staples and therefore you're able to ship which I thought was very convenient cuz it's right down the street from my house.
I walk in the store looks clean and there's hardly anyone there as far as customers go two people in the printer section or the area where I was going Three associates behind the desk. I walked up to the counter there was no No one else in line. The associate behind the counter was super rude to me. She ignored me for a while was talking to another employee behind the desk and then finally when she did acknowledge me she told me oh the printers are over there you have to go get your own shipping label. Well I'd never done this so I didn't know so I said well what do you mean I have to go over there. And she said well you send an email to the printer after youpurchase the label and then you can print it out and there's a code they send you you have to put in the printer. I tried it didn't work I tried it three times in each time my printed page came out blank.
I went back over to her she ignored me again walked away which was rude then a guy came out and asked me what the problem was with the printers. it's just not printing out my label I told him. He said well let's see what you're doing wrong. Walked over to the printer I did everything that he told me to go to print it out it's still didn't work. So he says well gee that's not going to help you send out anything is it hahaha. So now he's slowing his roll and trying to be funny which I didn't think his comment was. But I could tell he was uncomfortable and that's what we do when we're uncomfortable we cover up what we really feel by trying to be funny or taking attention off ourselves. So he couldn't get the printer to work right and basically just told me take a screenshot on your phone of what you're trying to email the printer and print that out and put that on the box. So I said okay and I did just that took the label taped it on the box took it to the register and the scanner went and scan it. Another employee came around the counter and said Yeah it won't scan if you screenshot your phone. So I looked at this guy and I said well that's what your manager told me to do. He said well that's not going to work. Needless to say I had had enough by now and I just said well I'm not going to be coming in here anymore to ship anything because I've been here for 45 minutes and it's been horrible. So I left. I went to UPS pay $3 for a stupid label and they shifted out no problem. Word of advice if you need a shipping label and it's just one just pay them to print it out and put it on the box that's what their job is. In my opinion the people at Staples are rude and I don't know why maybe they're having a bad day maybe it's because no one shops her anymore I don't know? All I know is I won't be shopping there anymore why go into a retail store for customer service when you get everything except that and you're trying to do all the work yourself it was a waste of 45 minutes That I will never get back. Hope you improve staples I was very...
Read moreUnbelievable. I purchased a product earlier in the day, and wasn’t given a receipt. Later that same day, I went to return said product. The kid working in the register informed me that without a receipt, the ONLY option for a refund was a cash card, their version of gift card. I asked to get a manager involved, and the kid told me that there was nothing the manager could do
I will quote verbatim “ if my manager could overwrite this, I would let him know and have him do that for you”
I was on a tight schedule, so I accepted the cash card since it was my only option.
About an hour passes, and I decide to call the store and talk to the manager myself. A gentleman named Josh answered, and after explaining my situation, he tells me that it’s 100% possible for him to look up the receipt and give me the refund via my card, but at this point, it was too late because I had already accepted the gift card.
Reasonably I’m furious. This isn’t a store I frequently go to, I don’t live close enough to use this gift card so to find out that this kid had lied to me, either out of laziness or simple ignorance, is infuriating. I was informed by the manager that the general manager will be in tomorrow, so I will call back and visit in the evening to further this situation. I don’t appreciate being lied to.
I really hope the store management reads this, I will keep going with this no matter how long it takes to make this right. And I hope that kid isn’t working when I go in tomorrow, I’m not afraid to speak my mind and...
Read moreJust went to do a simple return for Amazon yesterday and the woman at the counter made me feel ashamed for purchasing the items and although I packed them she took them all out of the bags and put them in plastic bags and essentially showed the line behind me all my intimate purchases. Not discreet, no reason to unbag all my things, and saying ‘Amazon is bad they put all of your returns in a landfill. It’s bad for the environment.’ This store should not be an authorized return for Amazon, the employee taking the return does not like Amazon at all and makes it very clear she feels Amazon shoppers are inferior. It was quite unsettling. The gentleman that was just ahead of me was also getting the same treatment, at one point she even sighed in frustration and plopped down the scanner on the. Counter and sighed in frustration and irritation because he had a few packages. Sending someone who very obviously hates Amazon business practices to do a job FOR Amazon is a bad idea. She was not quiet about it and in the amount of time I was there she made at least three Amazon customers feel very uncomfortable. No one wants to hear they are a bad person for shopping on Amazon and...
