We have loved the Breakfast Club since they opened, and it was our go to place in town for breakfast for the past 12 years. Unfortunately, since Covid, this has changed drastically. First, the wait to get seated as well as the wait to get your food means that we usually have to plan about 2.5 hours to go here now, unless we go super early. We have been patient with that wait because to food was great and the location perfect. Now, however, the food quality has severely deteriorated. I loved their food for so many years, but today did it for me. I ordered Eggs Benedict (one of my favorites in the past here) and they did not toast the English muffin, making it come out like bread soaked in water, no kidding. The ham went from real ham, thick and flavorful to that extremely thin sandwich ham - 2 slices, and you couldn't even taste it. The hollandaise sauce was pre-packaged (used to be homemade) and quite different than usual, having a blah flavor and too thin (hence the wet English muffin.. To top that off, the hash browns were burnt on the top and frozen in the middle with no flavor at all. I ordered off the Senior menu, but they brought a full plate. I explained I ordered of the Senior menu, but they just offered to make me wait until they made me another plate that was Senior size. I had already waited for my food for over 30 minutes. I took the one they arrived with, and I paid full price for it without eating anything but the eggs I could scrape off the soggy muffin and remove the sauce from. My Latte that I got and my grandson's hot chocolate were cold because they didn't steam the milk they used. The service was slow and terrible. What happened to our beloved Breakfast Club? I see that others are equally as dissatisfied with the present state of things here. It is not worth the wait, and the staff are not friendly or happy anymore. Perhaps they have to cut costs and use substandard quality to make a profit, but similar breakfast places are not having this trouble. I would rather pay $2 to $4 more per meal and have quality food. I was careful and politely complained to the cashier, and she said, "You should have been here yesterday, the food was worse than it is today." I left feeling like I should warn those waiting that it was horrible food, but I felt like that would have been terribly rude, and I didn't want to hurt the owner's profits. I thought about this on the way home, and decided that others need to know what to expect when they come here. Just order waffles and you will probably enjoy your meal. I really thought I shouldn't give it any stars, but it won't let me post without giving at least 1. One other dissapointment is that their specialty menu for gluten and dairy free items seems to be nonexistent now, and I don't think they use pasture raised eggs anymore. Too expensive for them? Not for others of the same caliber that the Breakfast Club used to be. . We miss you, old Breakfast Club, but there are other great choices in Menifee. I am so sorry for the staff and owner for me needing to write this review. It is...
Read moreReally sad to write this review. After 10 years of going to this restaurant w/ my family it took an Uber eats order that the restaurant grossly messed up on and refused to own up to it and make it right for us to discontinue our patronage here. We’ve noticing the decline in the service as of lately, but we still love to support local and today on my husband’s birthday, We decided to order in food. What a mistake. We added in a latte that ended up costing us $11 and specifically ordered hashbrowns as our side and a gf pancake (due to allergies I am very limited on what I can eat).. not only did we not receive the $11 latte with our delivery we received diced potatoes with vegetables I’m unable to eat instead of the hashbrowns and the gluten-free pancake tasted very weird.(I’ve had it before there and it didn’t taste like this) . When I called the restaurant, the girl who answered the phone seemed very unaffected by the fact that we did not receive majority of the food nor did I have anything to eat after paying $52 … I was told there’s nothing that the restaurant can do and then I have to make my phone calls to try to get reimbursed for the things we were not given. Unfortunately, we ordered this through Instacart, which we called and said actually it was delivered to Uber Eats, so then came the 3rd phone call… That rep was also not very helpful through Uber Eats and said they would give us a refund for $20 bucks which I guess is fair for me having to make my own food now.. But I asked for a full refund, given the fact that we’ve had to spend time calling for refunds and getting the runaround, and that one of us was not even able to eat. That phone call ended up getting disconnected so I called back was talking to another rep from Uber Eats who put me on hold and that phone call got disconnected ,so then I had to call back…. The third representative was even more unwilling to help than the first and actually lowballed us and said they were only gonna give us $15 back now (like what?)… I don’t know what kind of shady procedure that is, but I will never order from Uber Eats again after this, and unfortunately, I called the restaurant again and spoke to the manager who was not grasping the fact that it’s my husband’s birthday and I have spent majority of it on the phone about the order that they messed up and refused to admit. She only offered to remake the hashbrowns I wasn’t given and the latte… you would think coming from the Managers perspective if you had someone order food from your place and pay extra fees and deliveries, and you didn’t perform or give them the option to come back in for a full meal cooked properly in the future …even After the customer requesting that ….you think they would oblige ,but she still wasn’t getting it … The fact that they were trying to piece mail me on the items that they messed up on ,instead of trying to take care of me as a customer made me lose my loyalty forever. What a shame! No one handled this...
Read moreThough I did get a credit on my breakfast today, it still hasn’t made up for the disaster that was our breakfast to honor the memory of my husbands birthday today. (Nobody could know this) but it was greatly disappointing to have to ask for fork, napkin, lemon, then not be asked about the food after delivery ever or anything for that matter. Had to try to stop someone coming around the corner. The loud snapping of the rigid paper table covers that slip all over the tables, sailing through the air, heavy tromping through the path with buss boxes, throwing things into the kitchen that crashed right in our ears as we tried to wait, eat, converse. (We were offered this table to be closer so I didn’t have to walk so far. I bet no one ever sits here more than once, if they ever come back.). I know we won’t. My daughter’s food came out good enough but no flavor to the yellow sauce at all, like mine, broken or not, but my poached eggs had been cooked prior and slightly warmed. They were nearly solid in the middle. I had to stop someone to say my food wasn’t even hot. It was brought back later with the same wilted spinach, soggy, mushy, poor quality English muffins, and hollandaise that had broken and made a yellow egg soup that I just couldn’t eat. The server did take it to the manager. It was not the nice pictures on menus. I know the cashier looked twice to see why I was charged for “only” the hash browns. That was rich! The server said she was sorry I didn’t care for the food. I asked if she would. She snapped that she’s “not that picky”. Has to demean the disappointed diner as well? With a smirk, yet. Maybe she doesn’t need to work, but pretty arrogant. Lots of people looking for work. Does anybody know what that is these days? We held this to come on a special occasion and I’m sick now. If not I would hav not added this review. But if I can keep/warn someone else from feeling the way I do right now, hours afterward with only a few bites of this food, maybe it’s worth my effort. Seriously. Stomach upset from eating a couple bites and my hash browns offered while I waited. Don’t know how long my original eggs were sitting around. Yes I know “busy”. It’s a restaurant. But this wasn’t right and this must pass for quality...
