I'd been looking forward to checking this place out for a good while. I had scouted out several places before choosing this spot. I organize gatherings for a few different social groups in the area and this spot seemed perfect for a singles event i was planning.
I arrived and the place was hoppin'! Very promising! I realized it was a seat yourself sorry of deal, so i took a look around for a table that could seat our group. There were at least 6 tables that had not been bussed and a party of 2 had taken a table for 8 ppl bc all the others were dirty. So I grabbed a table for 4 and went to ask for something to wipe it down. The staff were busy, so i waited for nearly 10 minutes for the woman near the kitchen exit to be done with her call and asked politely. The woman sighed heavily and rolled her eyes then followed me to the table and cleared it then grabbed a towel from a bucket of filthy water and tossed it on the counter and walked away. The towel stunk like dirty mop water, so i grabbed napkins and did the best i could. I noticed other customers clearing their own tables as well. I didn't understand why the servers were returning to the kitchen with empty hands, not clearing the tables when they could see there were customers lined up out the door. Clearly the tables were needed. It's okay to be understaffed and stretched thin, but the work's still gotta get done.
Anyhow, People arrived for our gathering and ordered food and drinks. The soft drinks are "gourmet" but the price was quite high for a soda pop. They were okay, but i would suggest you bring your own water bottle. My order arrived incorrect, NBD, so i took it back and waited in line to have it replaced. The guy who helped me was friendly but was in such a hurry and not understanding the issue, so it took longer bc i had to keep repeating myself and he seemed flustered. He left the incorrect food with me and sent a fresh plate. That burger was the most disgusting burger I've tasted. It turned my stomach after just a couple bites. The meat was dry, overcooked, and had little to no flavor. It seemed as though the cook takes no pride in the food they put out. I didn't eat it.
I understand having a tough shift, but reading some of the other reviews i see I'm not alone in having a less than positive experience. As many gatherings as I've planned (10-15/yr since 2011,) this is one of the top 3 worst experiences, I'm sorry to say. With the rude woman, the unclean water/towel, the terrible food, i will not be visiting again, nor will i recommend it to others.
I hope y'all can do better. I hope you make a plan to fix these things. There's no place in our communities for establishments/teams to give less than their best. There are more and more options to...
Read moreI guess opinions are divided for the Bushfire Kitchen, Menifee. Went there to eat for the first time, celebrating a first class young man B-Day. Found the place inside very communal, barely any space by itself. Ended on the patio, put two tables together for our party of six. Asked mother nature very politely is she would please warm a little, as I was caught outdoors with inappropriate clothing for the season. My bro paid for everything to the tune of $100 including tip left in the jar by the cashier. Tri Tip Plate, 5 of them, $16 something. Mine with brown rice and grilled vegetables, like my bro, who had been there before asked for. Monkey see, monkey do, I follow suit. Young pretty niece had the baby back ribs, sweet potato fries and macaroni and cheese. Food came in a timely matter, just as my nose started dripping just a bit, not in the best of health for outdoor dining at 7:30 PM. Food somewhat bland, veggies nice a touch oily. Brown rice, brown rice. The slices of Tri Tip very modest, somehow reminded me of a thicker roast beef. Not the Lone Star quality of meat, but edible, never the less. Sister and I of one mind, in that the hoopla was perhaps a little overstated, but brother and big kids thumbs up all the way. Being the consummate well behaved guests, dinner paid by them, we made all the proper expressions, nodding our heads every so often, for terrible fare was not. Place was busy, lines forming incessantly and surely many loyal and happy patrons enjoying themselves, which is only right. For a second, or so, my mind wandered to back in time when this place was Dog Hauus? Surely a lot more less busy, but tasty dogs, bye bye birdie. What a change of pace, obviously the Bushfire Kitchen conducts brisker business. Water the main drink, happy it was after reading beers not a slam dunk? Anywho, best of luck, thank you for the invite, is it possible food taste a little better when I don't pay for it? Very...
Read moreThis was my first ever visit to Bushfire Kitchen. That day, we were a large group of 8 persons for a family Sunday lunch. For the most part, my the experience was okay. The staff were friendly and the whole family seemed to enjoyed their meals. However, my Tri-tip plate and my girlfriend's Perry Chicken were just not up to par. Both were quite dry, and outright bland. But on the contrary, the sides we ordered for those repective plates were quite good. In fact everyone else's meal at our table tasted just fine too. I guess my girlfriend and I lucked out? I honestly don't know what else to say, but had I known this, I would have just had their burgers instead. From what I saw from the nearby tables, the burgers looked juicy and amazing. One thing that really suprised me was their Bushfire House IPA and the (sorry I cannot remember the exact name) Salt & (something) Lager. The latter was really quire refreshing and tasty. It was also just right on the tummy too. It has to be one of the nicest tasting Lagers I have had in a while and would honestly order it again in a heartbeat. It is really that good in my opinion.
Well, the place isn't hard to find and my aunts and uncles (yes they're all seniors) didn't have a hard time getting in and out of the place. Wheelchair and stoller access was perfect for my daughter's stroller too. The PWD restroom is large and also has a bassinet for tolder diaper changes if required. Parking is plentiful but may be difficult if you come on a weekend. I guess my next future visit will surely involve trying the burgers out and sipping that...
