A few days ago, the internet was having troubles at the business I work at. We called Reliance, as we had a general idea of what the problem was, and the technician we spoke to insisted that our internet was fine. We called back soon after and asked to have someone sent out, and he reluctantly said he'd "put in a ticket". Next, we called their customer service line. The lady we spoke to insisted that our problems were because we didn't buy their top of the line dual-band high speed router, even though the problem was with wired internet, not wireless. She saw that the previous technician had put some info in the notes, and what she read to us was nowhere near what the technician had said. Finally, we asked when they'd be able to have someone able to come take a look, and she said "whenever they're available". When the boss went down to the main office, he was told that no managers were available, as they were all at lunch for the next hour. When he said he'd wait, the receptionist was magically able to find someone to talk to. This turned out to be a lie, not only was the speed so bad I was completely unable to stream, but they were not even willing to help take from my download to put it into my upload. I had called the main line and they told me it was indeed possible to do this, yet the reliance in mesquite refused to work with me and help me out. I'm incredibly disappointed with this monopoly they have going on. I will file a complaint with the city hall in regards to how awful and unreliable this place is and how they forbid you from being able to connect to an actual decent service provider. I need more than 0.95 speed to run my business and they won't even help me out regardless of the $76 I'm paying a month for this service. I even upgraded my "service" (at unreasonable cost) to try to better "service"...but alas, no improvement! I'd drop UNreliant in a second if I had any other choice - any at all - even at twice the cost - but no other service available in my area of Mesquite. I'd even forego the $120 they would charge me if I dropped my service before 18 months - and I'm on a very limited budget - they are that bad. They have a monopolistic hold on most of Mesquite and are a prime example of "buyer beware". I live in an HOA and virtually all of my neighbors feel the same as I do. Some of us are even considering a class-action suit noting that UNreliance is not living up to its advertised Internet expectations.
