M.B. Market — Local services in Miami Beach

So I'm staying at the hostel, and my friends here have been spending on me because I moved here a week ago with nothing. I went to multiple stores but decided on this one because it had fruit. I not only wanted to make food for myself since I hadn't eaten in a couple of days, but I wanted to do something nice for my roommates. I picked out small items. Added everything up, which was already overcharged, and knew I still had money to catch the bus for my interviews today. I went to the counter, and it came out more than I expected. I thought fine I'll just walk to the interview of the job I actually wanted, and skip the other one. When I left, I noticed a 5 dollar service charge. Remembered how he opened the drawer and closed it. Also, I used tap pay, so the drawer shouldn't have opened at all. I came back in and asked about it, seeing how the lady couldn't explain it, and everything looked suspicious I asked for refund. When I asked for it, the money did not come to my card immediately. I went back, and the woman was screaming at me. Telling me that it was my fault. I just cried back to the hostel. I got myself together and came back for my original invoice, and they gave me a ham because "they understand my struggle." My struggle was managed before I was robbed or used as a pawn for robbery at this store. So now I have a $7 ham...

Nice clean store with everything well organized but the SCAM he’s pulling is charging a service charge on using credit/debit cards. I get it that they charge a fee but this is South Beach most people aren’t really carrying cash. Oh & it was for a big can of Coke, that was $2 & I was charged and extra fifty cents, that 25% of the item, really?!? Oh and also with no signage anywhere indicating that this was their policy, not cool!!! Won’t...

Beware of going here, they are likely to scam you, said our card was declined so we paid cash. But when I checked the card payment had been accepted, so ended paying twice. Went back to confront them, they acted...
