Let’s start from the beginning… the check-in process took 30 minutes. There was one front desk attendant who was extremely slow processing check-ins. The system also appeared to be outdated and extremely slow. There were only 3 people in line.. there is no reason a simple check-in should take this long. We also were not even acknowledged when we walked in to the hotel, that would have made the wait more bearable. The room was decent. We actually got lucky with a good size room (we hear most rooms are really small). Bathroom was fine, bed was fine. The mini-bar was useless and the fridge had a very annoying bright blue light! All the snacks expired months ago lol. We didn’t plan on using the mini-bar but to advertise this as one of the amenities in the $30/day resort fee is ridiculous. Would have appreciated an empty fridge and complimentary water bottle instead. Anyway, on day two we came back to our room after a day at the beach. We saw a “maintenance in room” sign hanging on the door. We tried to open with our key but it didn’t work, knocked for several minutes and no response. After ~7 minutes of waiting we went to the front to get a new key thinking ours stopped working. We came back and the “maintenance in room” door sign was gone. This was so sketchy and made us feel like really u easy like someone was hanging out in the room waiting for us to leave- why wouldn’t they just open the door?? Anyway, overall the room and experience was fine if you don’t mind lack of amenities and long wait times. We would have counted this as a 3-4 star experience if it wasn’t for the rudeness at checkout. We never received an email confirmation of our reservation or payment so asked for a print out of our bill at check out. We immediately noticed we received a copy of the deposit hold instead of our bill, so got back in line to ask for the full bill receipt. The front desk attendance (name starts with V) seemed annoyed by this because it took a long time to locate us in the system. She started to complain about third party bookings when we mentioned we booked directly with the hotel and are just asking for a receipt. After 20 minutes she said you need to ask before check out for a bill or it’s difficult. I reminded her that we did ask but received a deposit hold receipt, not a full hotel bill. She said well you asked for the wrong one. Even then we just received a receipt of the resort fees payment total and not a full receipt…….. anyway, this rude interaction just ruined the whole average experience...
Read moreI usually write reviews only to highlight the service I received, I try to avoid writing bad reviews because at the end of the day I think we are all doing our best. Well… if I say something maybe it will help this place get some common sense and offer a more decent service. For starters, just when I was entering the premises, two police men approached the front desk and the lady working told them there was a guy in an upstairs room that wasn’t checked in drinking and refusing to leave. You can imagine my first impression.. I did not feel safe the entire stay because of this incident. When I was doing the line, one of the ladies( she seemed to be the manager but I am not sure), started calling people in an incredible rude way and telling her co worker that we were crazy for doing the check in line when it wasn’t 3 pm. ( it was 2:40 pm). Another thing.. if you’re in a business or family trip, or even if you’re looking to relax.. DO NOT COME HERE. From the ambience to the incredibly LOUD music the bar plays until 3 AM EVERY single night this was the most uncomfortable stay I experienced. This is basically a night club all day long. I was in the last of the rooms in the ground floor and I could here the music like it was next to me.. When I went to ask the front desk lady to turn the music down I literally couldn’t hear her, and she was next to me. I mean, I get that they are in Collins Ave and it would be okay to play a few hours of normal volume music on a weekend but a rainy night on Wednesday when nobody is in the street? They offer to clean the room only every three days, which I’m okay with because I prefer to clean it myself, but they are supposed to leave toilet paper and fresh towels every day, I only got them the first day. The rooms was kinda small and you can’t really see anything through the windows which makes it feel like a prison. There was a nice closet and safety box, which was helpful. The bed was comfortable enough. Staff was okay but nothing to highlight honestly, I work in costumer service and I know when people go out their way to make you feel comfortable, and to give their best in what they are doing.. I did not feel that in this place. Next time I will pay a little more and assure me a better stay somewhere else, won’t...
Read moreI wanted to share my experience from August 26-29, 2024. I was in room 402 at Chesterfield Hotel on Collins Drive between eighth and ninth Street.
When you check in the lady was friendly They give you a piece of paper to see if you have any issues concerns they’re available 24 seven
I had concerned with the room as the sheets were filthy. The comforter, pillowcase, food drink snack area, which was very dirty.I’m not making this up.!!the mood smell was loud!!!!! Look closely at lamp mold built up in it if you have allergies especially to mold trust me u are not sleep well here !!
You can hear every person beside your room, in front of your door all through the night. The walls are extremely thin. The staff have no regard for the people staying there. They constantly move back-and-forth stomp. . It’s more like a 2* And that’s me being nice simply because of the location!!
I put in my complaints and timely manners as I book through Airbnb, redirected me to the host. The host redirected me to Chesterfield, and nobody gave me no clarification or recourse to clarify or rectify my circumstance concerns
A matter of fact, the Host at Chesterfield was rude condescending, and I have all the emails and correspondence of them deflecting responsibility by saying I didn’t make a complaint in timely manner etc then upon leaving charge me three days later on my credit card for items that did not use at no time!! in no way shape or form a matter of fact, it was the exact items that I complained about being in my room that looked like they were used by previous people or thrown around in the room and just placed back up on the tray nicely
Host should be in looked into immediately. Her whole entire game and position was to deflect and not take responsibility for paying customers. had the nerve to charge my credit card and suggest after I explained that it was me that actually used the items and nobody in our room touch them not even once it’s very frustrating and stressful. I have to deal with the circumstance like this. It makes you feel like. It’s a whole circus down there and I would never stay at Chesterfield. Beware. Air b&b rectified after investigation!! thank you air b&b for helping me and returning...
