FYE — Local services in Miami Township

I’ve never had any issues with FYE until my last visit. I’m still giving 3 stars because it wasn’t a completely insane experience or anything, however they encourage you to sign up for their “FYE backstage pass” but do not provide much detail when doing so. Therefore I figured it was like a rewards card offered by many other stores and accepted. Turns out only the first month is free and then your bank is auto charged (using whatever card you used with your purchase during that visit) every month after for about $12.00 month. ... meaning I ended up paying about $30 ultimately, for a dang can of Pepsi and some candy for my son! Then you have to call to cancel and they attempt to pressure you into keeping your membership .. I told the rep I hardly ever shop here it wouldn’t be worth it and she says I can reduce the price to $6 a month... why would I donate $6 a month to your chain of retail stores when I rarely...almost never shop there? I was on a work trip in Dayton and someone recommended that I head over to the mall I figured why not I got time to kill. As soon as I walked in the mall I saw the FYE store. I have been to several FYE stores in Michigan and in North Carolina and I can say without a doubt that they are not my favorite stores (that has now change). I walked in with honestly no intention to buy anything. As I looked through the merchandise a shirt caught my eye and I decided to get it. I was then approach by the most friendliest employee I have ever come across. His name was Brandon he was everything an employee out to be he was attentive, informative, and friendly. He explained the deals that were going on and the FYE membership ( which I am now a proud member!) Do not for any reason sign up for any rewards with this store. It’s a scam. They will pressure you into signing up for a VIP rewards program and tell you that it’s free but only for the first month after that it’s $11.99. Upon getting in my car, I looked at what they handed me and saw this. I went in and talked to the person who signed me up and he said oh well you’re gonna have to call customer service to cancel it. Called customer service and they said oh we don’t have record of your membership. It’ll take 48 Hours for the system to update so call back then and this was a holiday weekend so I wouldn’t have been able to call them till Tuesday. Completely forgot about it.
