Sakura Express — Restaurant in Miami Township

I wouldn't say it's a five-star but I wouldn't say it's a four star. Maybe a 4.5 maybe a 4.7. I always only get teriyaki chicken with fried rice and vegetables. Sometimes I get the noodles but not really for me. The flavor and the chicken is always on point. It's soft but has a little bit of crisp on the outside. Very reasonable price for the amount of food. I have specifically gone to the mall food court before just to get this and nothing else in the mall. It's sad to see the mall closing around it. The place was better than it has to be. This is food from a dying mall food court. Yes the noodles and fried rice are full of oil, and everything comes with a sugary sauce. The food was delicious, however. One entree can easily serve two adults.

Even though the shop front was a bit of a mess (paper hand written menus supplement the official menu board, empty Japanese soda bottles lined up behind the register), it has a quirky, homey feel. The employees were great! The cook puts on a little show as you watch him prepare your dish.

I have been going here for 5-10 years. The staff has been so wonderful. They even remembered me after being away for 2-3 years. They even remember my order. Yum Yum chicken with a Mountain roll. Extra sauce.. lol
