My first flag was how empty the place was, especially during brunch hours, as a place that claims they have excellent brunch deals. I was mildly expecting the prices for some things, as they are a place that is supposed to mainly serve ocean fish... But some things were just 3x their actual worth, just to be that way. Our own server admitted that she only gets one or two of their smaller sides, and the nervousness with which she said it made it pretty obvious to me that she eats that because it's likely all that she could afford on their menu within reason. So, staff pay is OUT for reasons for the bloated prices.
Very rushy, uncomfortable atmosphere that doesn't like when someone takes their time to check along the menus to make sure they are getting what they want. I could even hear a staff member talking to himself about how he is checking for anyone they can kick out for taking too long to order.
I made sure to remain a little bit longer than I wanted, just to see what sort of people come in. What crowd I had seen come through were more concerned with "making a show of their money" and gloating to their peers, than eating. This is NOT the sort of atmosphere an eatery should have. It's a disgrace.
The server did her best with what she had, as my partner was too shell shocked to order anything on her own. The only reason this place is getting a 3-star instead of a 2-star from me is because the signature pasta did not disappoint. Even THAT is pushing it, as I decided to give the swordfish a try, and that was a tragedy.
Now, I may not have had swordfish before today. But if there is one thing I know: it should NEVER taste like I am EATING THE WATER FROM BROWN RESERVOIR OF SPRINGFIELD! Gross. The portion, for just shy of $29 was appalling even. A single 4oz fillet... SERIOUSLY? I get it, I'm not on the coast, there is going to be an upcharge for eating inland. But the quality and quantity fall shamefully below expectations for that kind of price tag.
Even as a successful independent contractor and artist, I cannot recommend this place. Spend smart, and eat actually good food for a truly reasonable price. Do...
Read moreLast night was horrible the place was packed full of people that had reservation. My sister clearly has two emails under her name after standing in the long line I politely waited to be greeted instead of I was just given a look as if why am I here, the thoughts of racism raced my mind but I love everybody and hate to put that on anyone but it was clear, immediately the hostess said she didn’t have my reservation I wasn’t greeted, nor did she say sorry or anything my sister got the same exact treatment and felt just as uneasy as me. I will love for a manger to confirm we wasn’t on the list then explain why we had two emails with a reservation, our whole African American family dressed up ready to taste this for the first time. Customers were very friendly and nice and was also complaining that they have been there forever and never experienced it like this before over an hour we all our side by side the place isn’t much seating they overbooked did not care to go out their way to show their truss colors I waited by to see how she would greet the next person in line Caucasian. She greeted them with a warming smile pulled up their reservations and seated them quickly my heart sank it isn’t my first rodeo like this, since they wasn’t offering us service they promised and did not care to seat us for inconvenience even though we had a email time date name . We went to hook n reel across the street. I will not be back here, I know this place was packed full of majority Caucasian and that fine, but if that’s all you’re catering too let the rest of us know. Everybody matters our time is all just as important birthdays anniversary we hurt we all bleed the same. That was truly heart breaking it’s 2025 and I feel as if I cannot go to certain restaurants. BONE FISH GRILL NEED NEW HOSTESS THAT LOVES ALL PEOPLE DIFFERENT COLORS AND PERSONALITIES or you will receive more...
Read moreThe food here is good based on past visits and I like that they have out door seating. However our recent visit here will be my last. I called the day before to ask about the $5 martini special on Monday, and to see if it was only during certain hours. I was told that it was all night long. So we didn't make plans to be there at a certain time. We arrived at around 8:40 PM and asked the hostess if we had to sit at the bar for the drink special and she said no. So we sat out side and waited for 15 minutes before someone came out to take our drink order. The gentleman that came out talked to us for a bit and then asked us what would we like to order. We told him that we were here for the $5 martinis and that is when we were told that we couldn't order them past 9 PM due to state liquor laws. I explained that this was never mentioned to us when I called or when we got there. He said that he had just enough time to put in our order so we asked if we could just order two. He said that was fine and took our order. About five minutes later another gentleman came out and told us that we couldn't get any of our drinks at the special price. So we again explained everything that we just went through and that the first guy said he would take care of everything. He said "well if he said that he would honor the drink special then thats fine" and walked away. After another 5 minutes the first gentleman came back out and apologized to us and said that he couldn't honor our second order but could do the first round. So we agreed just to be done with all of this back and forth. I just wish that this would of been told to us when I called, or when we spoke to the hostess. I am just very disappointed in the service that we received and the fact that no one seemed to know about the drink special...
