THEY ABUSE ANIMALS! OWNERS BEWARE I used Kool and Kute to groom my two Persian cats- winter and bear. Every time there seems to be an issue whether it's the wrong haircut, the wrong scheduling, or pickup. However, this time was worse- Winter was picked up by kool and kute for a normal bath and haircut, first of all the lady was 30 minutes late to pick her up, I explained her multiple times to do a COMPLETE shave without any feet or tail details. Winter arrived home 4 hours later and of course she was not completely shaved and had feet detail with a tail detail left. Then I noticed that her eyes were completely different sizes, her pupil on the left wasn't dilating or constricting to light. I immediately freaked out and called KOOL AND KUTE, nobody spoke English and kept saying "I have a video, I have a video!" They also placed some random expired eye protectant they told me. I rushed winter to the ER and there they did a fluorescein test which resulted positive for a severe acute corneal abrasion meaning she got it within the last few hours. She had pus and extreme erythema. It seems that they accidently stabbed her eye or scratched her during grooming. I preceded to text the groomer and asked them to have the owner call me- they never called. I eventually called the groomer this morning and spoke with the owner, Rossmely Delgado who was immediately defensive- you would think the first thing she says would be "I'm sorry" or some sort of apology or sign of remorse to have caused my cat this pain.... this was not the case. Rossmely Delgado immediately started saying how it wasn't their fault and told me I could come and see a video of her eyes being inflamed, I asked if this was before or after grooming and she said after. I was like EXACTLY after the grooming you noticed it, she was extremely unprofessional, stated that my husband and I are difficult clients. No apology, no remorse, no professionalism. She refused to send me the video and hung up on me. This isn't the first time we noticed issues- One time my other Persian cat Bear arrived home after his grooming with a 5cm laceration on his left hind leg, They cut him during his appointment severely- My husband and I are both physicians and were able to suture him at home. Kool and Kute stated that they didn't cut bear and that must've happened after he got home.
We are extremely sad and hurt that our cat is in so much pain due to Kool and Kute unsafe environment. They are NOT careful and do not treat animals with respect. They are extremely unprofessional and Rossmely Delgado has no respect- she is unwilling to take any accountability for her employees actions. I have contacted the Miami police and notified my lawyer, I will be pressing charges against this place. IT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. DO not take...
Read moreI took my cats to this grooming salon that I had randomly picked. I just wanted a regular wash and a bit of a trim around their butts for both of them. When I dropped off the cats, I asked how much it would cost. They said it starts at $75 and might go up depending on what the cats need. But then, it ended up being $110 for each cat, which was a shock to me. I wash my cats every 3 months, and they looked pretty well-kept that day. Obviously, I asked why it cost extra, and the front desk manager gave a general explanation about needing extra care because my cats are long-haired. Honestly, it felt like a scam, but I didn’t fight it. Price-wise, this place didn’t seem worth it to me. Back in West Hollywood, CA, where I used to live, I paid $55-60 per cat for the same basic grooming. Even in New York City, in the heart of Manhattan where I’ve traveled with my cats a couple of times, the price was around $60 per cat. So, comparing it with the most expensive cities in the US, this Miami place seemed too pricey. My cats are always well-kept and not hard to handle, so the results are the same everywhere. About the salon: the only part I saw was the small, narrow lobby where you drop off and pick up your pets. I don’t even remember seeing a couch to sit on. When I picked up my cats, they were in their carriers on the floor behind the little reception desk, which was odd. Plus, the lobby smelled strongly of dogs. The salon (or at least the part I saw) didn’t look fancy. But to say something nice, the groomer did a great job washing my cats, the staff was really sweet, and the location in the center of Miami is a big plus. Moreover, they always answered my calls, which is definitely another advantage! Will I go back? Possibly! But I’m definitely going to look around Miami for something more reasonable...
Read moreDO NOT take your dog here for grooming. I brought my two dogs in to get their nails cut and was met with rude workers who traumatized my dogs. When I walked in, I could hear dogs crying and yelping from the grooming room but couldn't see what's going on because of their opaque glass doors. This should have warned me off but one of the ladies came and whisked off one of my dogs. My dog came back 5 min later, frightened, with dog crap smeared all over her butt which ended up all over my hands and clothes. I had to ask to go into their grooming room to wash this off and saw dogs locked up in tiny cages everywhere, some which barely fit them, whimpering. They were already working on my other dog so I waited outside and when they came out with him, they charged me $50 because they said they had to express the anal glands because I obviously had not regularly done so. I told them that I didn't ask them to express them. They said it's something that's necessary and it was my fault for not regularly doing so. I've been to many different groomers and I've never been told this. Dogs release anal glands when they are scared and unless there is a sign of impaction/infection, regular expression is not necessary. My dogs have never had issues with them. To top it off, when I came home, I saw one of my dogs leaving bloody footprints everywhere because their nail had been cut to the quick. Please do not take your dog here if you care for them. They not only traumatized my dogs but was extremely rude about the...
