I was enrolled for welding classes until yesterday half way through my 2nd term and it was problems from the gate....halfway through my first term 3 members of my family lost their lives in the same week so I had to take a week and a half off school for funerals and everything else but when I returned I was LITERALLY screamed at and cussed out for being gone so long and falling behind on projects so after the screaming match with a welding instructor named Doug to defend myself I completed the first term then in my 2nd term I was awarded a scholarship from the AWS and after my scholarship check was received by the school they took the check and kept the money for over a month of basically begging for the money I was given a lil more than half after “other charges” were added to my account that other welding students didn’t get charged on their accounts now after the scholarship check issue was brushed aside I became very ill from diabetes and missed another week in my 2nd term and when I returned I wasn’t allowed to make up any of my assignments from that week from 1 instructor named Steve and when I approached my instructor Doug about getting caught up on shop projects he refused to take any of his time to demonstrate projects for me so I understood when I approached Kate Hudson one of the directors her exact words to me were “I don’t wanna hear it” which infuriated me so when the head director of the school Paul Fitzgerald heard he approached me and when I explained that 2 of my instructors were brushing me to the side and treating me as a lost cause he defended his instructor Doug and praised him instead of fixing the problem so I requested to drop out but they refused to write a truthful statement about the details of why I was leaving instead of “student was unhappy with school” and when I refused to sign the paper Paul threatened to call the police on me and told me he dropped me forcefully so now I’m thousands in dollars in debt that the school benefited from because I refused to drop the conflict of how I was treated...if your looking to attend EIT I suggest you do your due diligence and research and read reviews and it’s also notable that while I was there for the 4 months over 10 different employees left the school from instructors upto directors and financial aide....just an over all horrible experience and it’s be against a huge business so I’m left...
Read moreWent for graphic design and for the most part regretting it. I had 3 really good teachers, 1 who didn't even teach in my program. The program director at the time and probably still holds that job is a joke. One teacher there intentionally screwed up her grade sheet trying to fail me which I fought to the end and I ended up passing her class eventually. Unfortunately that delay cost me an internship with the seawolves which I would have loved because baseball has always been a part of my life. Even being a small part of any baseball team would have been awesome. Instead I got stuck with interning at a t-shirt print shop in downtown Erie and I couldn't have been more ridiculed anywhere else in my life. I also didnt learn a damn thing except the fact that the guy running the shop was more worried about his golf game or treating me like I was trash than teaching me anything. Now I'm 12,000$ in debt to this joke of a school and can't find a job for my field because their job placement in this field sucks. They only want to send you to jobs that won't support you and/or are a ridiculous distance away. Let's just say this to end this review. I was with 7 other students when I began the program which had six, 3 month terms. By term 3, there were 2 of us left. And by the end of the 4th term, I was the only one left. I stuck it out and got my degree, but with little to nothing to show for it. Wouldn't...
Read moreAs a student in the HVAC program I absolutely loved the program. I graduated September 2021. The HVAC teachers, Bob, Larry, and Dan were all knowledgeable and amazing and I graduated with an excellent foundation. The reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because of one teacher and old man named Gordon who taught our electrical class. He was nothing short of a horrible experience. He would mark questions on tests and homework wrong that were exactly what the book said the answer was, he spent 3 classes covering quantum physics instead of the electrical and that's not hyperbole that is exactly what he taught. As a student who already had an associates degree in electrical, electronics, and worked in electrical for 10 years he was covering nothing that we needed to know for HVAC. The worst day was when he stated that the book was wrong and the entire class walked out of the class and went to the administration who told us "Yeah you're not going to win against Gordon" your school claims to be guiding people for success but when and entire class complains about a teacher your response is "Get over it" he was the absolute worst and as long as he's employed there I will never give you more...
