Avoid this company at all costs. You’ll save yourself years of frustration, money, and stress. Anvil is a nightmare. Even their neighboring furniture store refuses to work with them after witnessing my experience.
This company used to have a solid reputation, but the original owner retired and left it in the hands of his son, who clearly does not care about quality or customer satisfaction. I’m a local first responder, and despite that, they’ve gaslit me, made endless excuses, and failed to take any responsibility for their blatant design failures and sloppy work. Over a year later, the project remains unfinished, and even though I still owe a small final payment, they haven’t asked—because they know they didn’t deliver.
Major Issues: Critical design flaw: Anvil designed a kitchen where my refrigerator door can’t open fully—it hits the oven door handle. They had the exact model number of the fridge before construction began and sold me the oven themselves. Their “solution”? Blame me. They repeatedly asked why I didn’t buy a fridge that fit—despite having approved the model during design. Installation damage, lazy repairs: Countertop installers (subcontracted) damaged cabinets under my bay window and agreed to pay for repairs. Anvil “repaired” it by gluing a piece of wood to the front. It looks terrible and reduces toe space. They refused to address it further unless I dropped the oven issue. Poor workmanship covered up, then held hostage: Cabinet paint was damaged during hood vent installation. They arranged for a painter to fix it—but the job was botched. I notified Anvil. Instead of making it right, they canceled the second repair and said nothing more would be done until I gave up on the refrigerator/oven problem. Ineffective, lazy solutions: They claimed moving the oven would help and did it without my consent—by simply gluing another spacer next to the existing one. It didn’t fix the issue and now looks sloppy and unprofessional. Broken promises: After I suggested several solutions, they finally agreed to replace the oven with a two-door model and asked if that would resolve my concerns. I said yes—if it actually worked. They never followed up. Nothing was done. Admitted mistake, no fix: They installed a tall spice rack where a cutting board pullout should have gone. They admitted the mistake but refused to fix it without concessions on the oven issue. Unfinished work: A corner cabinet pullout I provided was never installed—again, they’re holding this hostage over the unresolved oven situation. Final adjustments ignored: Basic finish work—alignment, spacing, etc.—was never completed. My designer assured me this is standard practice at the end of a project. Anvil won’t do it unless I give up my right to dispute the kitchen’s flawed design.
Despite countless emails, calls, and visits, they refuse to speak to me directly. Their lawyer even threatened to sue me if I left a negative review. That’s how they operate: silence and intimidate the customer rather than take responsibility.
Bottom line: Anvil designed and built a kitchen that doesn’t function as intended. They’ve made excuse after excuse, dodged accountability, left work incomplete, and tried to bully me into silence. This is not just poor service—it’s active negligence.

Read moreWe checked 2 other big box stores before coming to Anvil. They were recommended by the contractors doing our kitchen remodel because they're known for being on time with delivery and knowing the products.
Chef Vaughn gave us valuable information about the appliances we were interested in and show us around for several hours. He even did some demos of them.
For example, The GE Cafe microwave with Advantium tech is amazing. He put a frozen sandwich inside and in 4 minutes it was as if it was in a panini grill. Crisp, toasted, delicious.
We like that you can see the appliances and various kitchen designs. So you could check out different cabinets, countertops, backsplash and pulls.
In the end, we picked differently than we were planning because of the education we got. Like I never wanted an electric cooktop. I wasn't even open to it. Until I saw another demo where you can literally cook on top of a kitchen towel to absorb splatters. And it's way faster and easier to clean than a gas cook top.
I went home and looked up recipes to cook in my new appliances. The air fryer/convection oven and even sous vide add-on are new to me. Everything cooks faster and is more energy efficient too, like a baked potato in 9 minutes. Wow. I can't wait!
The prices are right in line with everyone else but the service is way better! There's nothing like talking to someone who knows the products well and uses them.
My only complaint is the bathrooms. I had to take photos to prove it. They look bad. Lots of miscellaneous stuff inside like an ironing board in the women's and a saw in the men's. I hope they're remodeling because that was my first impression and even if they're clean, look dingy and very outdated. A big contrast from the rest...
Read moreI have purchased over $20,000 of high-end appliances over the past few months for a remodel. I purchased from:
Anvil Plesser's (out of New York/New Jersey) Costco Home Depot
All appliances were purchased well in advance of delivery/installation service.
Anvil was far and away the best in every area. They never missed or rescheduled an appointment. They were flexible when I had to change delivery/installation twice.
Their delivery team was professional and thorough, I really can't say enough about how good they were - especially when compared to the others. If I were to rate experiences relatively on a scale of 1-10 I would say:
Anvil - Easy 10 - per above Costco 7.5 - everything was installed as I would expect, all packaging was removed, no damage to home and so on. Plesser's 7 - Basically same as Costco, but relatively simple install so .5 stars less. Home Depot 2 - I am going to write a home depot review, but this rating is on Home Depot installation policy, not on the people who did the install. I will just say, if you buy appliances from Home Depot, do not expect "Installation" to really mean Installed, read the fine print carefully as they will look for every reason to NOT do the installation.
In the future, if I need appliances, I will try to get them from Anvil, the only reason I would not is if I can't get the specific item I need from Anvil. I could rant further, but I won't other than to reiterate that I can't imagine how Anvil could have done a better job than they...
