I really wish this store overhauled their checkout practices. I do a lot of crafting and I dread going to Hobby Lobby because there is always a line, and check out always takes forever. If a store wants to save money by having one cashier, at least make the process of ringing up items efficient. Not scanning barcodes and having to manually enter in every item and then enter in every sale is ridiculous. All too often cashiers are wasting time scanning through the sale ad to see if something is on sale. With modern technology, you mean to say the store can’t have a system where there sale price is automatically applied? I feel bad for cashiers who have to ask the customer how much something cost or if it’s on sale. They shouldn’t have to ask the customer. I have purposely avoided hobby lobby just so I can get what I need and get out quickly elsewhere. I can see if a store is busy on occasion, it happens. But I spend at least 20 minutes just waiting to check out every time I go. Get more cashiers or make your check out process faster. Or, put the employees loitering around your registers talking on a lane. Just looked at my receipt… of course the cashier missed sale items. That’s something else too, my receipt is never right. I wonder how many people get overcharged because of the...
Read moreIt’s amazing to see how Christianity is interwoven with capitalism within this overpriced pseudo-pious establishment. What I found most captivating today was when I asked the store manager “Chris’” if there were available wipes to clean the shopping carts that have significant contact daily, and was informed in a curt and insalubrious manner that it is not in the store’s policy to maintain such a practice. Hereof, it is not so much what he said, but the tone and visual culture of what his response conveyed. Further, his statement and body language revealed a sense of supremacy and dominance as he shook left and right to maintain his position. I believed my question was appropriate due to the social history and climate living in a pandemic. Perhaps he was having a challenging day or he lacks the social and cultural skills needed to respond...
Read moreUpdate. About a month ago, my daughter and her husband (non-believers) took their potty training toddler into hobby lobby. They were rushing to get to the restroom at the back of the store. They were met by an associate who had zero sympathy for their situation. "The restroom is closed," they were told. They asked, even for her? She's potty training?" "No." Not even an "I'm sorry" was spoken by the associate. It's very sad bc they now say they will never go to hobby lobby again. It's definitely not a good impression of a Christian store. I'm disappointed.
I love the atmosphere most of all. The calm, christian music is so soothing to my soul. I could shop for hours just slowly walking around and looking at the dollhouses and furniture. The associates are friendly...
