My family and I have been her before and the food was okay, this time the food was absolutely atrocious. Everything was overcooked. Starting with the cactus blossoms. The grilled shrimp was so tough I had to eat it slowly to prevent choking. My kids got hot dogs which took a good half hour to make with applesauce. Place wasn’t super packed but the spot they put us in was strange. We waited so long to get our actual food I was worried they would overcook my husbands steak considering my eldest daughter got the ribs, I got the shrimp and rice and he got a beautiful cut of NY strip. Now, by this time I am completely losing faiith in having a good birthday dinner. My 3 little one were done theirs and waiting for us. My “sweat” tea tasted like what you would think a horse would taste. I was just over it. So by the time we got our food it was an expected severely overcooked. My husbands steak was well done after he ordered it medium rare. Server disappeared and only showed up ever minimal so we’re not even able to get her name. We had to have another server hunt her down. They completely did not know what each other or even we were talking about. The steak looked like a skirt steak it was so flat. I highly doubt it was the ny strip we picked out. It was cooked horribly and overly done. My husbands steak didn’t want to say anything but darn it, this is a darn steakhouse how do you mess this up??? My eldest daughter ribs were as if they were taken from an emaciated pig, they were just so dry she, that bone was not letting the meat go. Fall off the bone my butt! My shrimp once again was super dry(wanted to give them a chance at redemption) my rice was overly cooked and mushy, my mashed potatoes were watery. Steak fries were just old and once again, (you guessed it) overcooked! Omg! It was just terrible. I couldn’t eat, my husband and daughter just asked for a yo go tray. This was unacceptable. We don’t like to be wasteful but darn that was trash. We went to tell the server and she brought over her manager who basically handed over a dinner for two coupon asking us if we want to stay another hour for another meal to be destroyed. We said no, completely unhappy. We will not be going back! Ever I’m heartbroken for my husband over that beautiful steak, supposedly from a steakhouse. Food was terrible, service was lousy and we were overcharged even with tip. Yep seen our credit card statement because no one brought us our check. Just awful, food was inedible so can’t give it to the homeless, trash it is. I will be calling the store soon to ask for that. If you like steak don’t go here, if you like food don’t go here. If you desire disappointment and fury,...
Read moreFirst time here at this location. Just moved to the area. Didn't understand why they would take our party ...who had a 75-year-old woman who is only 4 ft 10 to sit us in the bar area which the step up to get into the booth is at least 12 in if not more. When a manager came over to give us a bag of peanuts and expressed that the hostess told them it was our first time there. So she gave us a free appetizer card to use for next time. I asked the manager if there was anywhere in the restaurant that had the same level seating. Meaning we didn't have to step up to a booth. And she said oh yeah just make sure next time you let the hostess know. I believe it would just be common sense to look at a 75-year-old woman and assume that she wouldn't be able to really step up that high in the bar area to get into a booth. The waiter Gage could care less about waiting on us. It was almost like we were bothering him that we came in. From the moment he came to the table with his mumbling mushy mouth to all the way through the experience. Horrible service. He puts the drinks down and flat out says I'm not sure which one is really unsweetened or sweet iced tea and he looks us dead in the face and tells us I wasn't paying attention when I put all that on the tray. Like it was our job to now taste test every drink to see who got what. And then when the manager comes around halfway through our meal to see if everything was good. She barely got the words out, looks up and then just moves along to the next table as if there's no time to express any concern. Don't waste your time. Save your money. Just another fun fact when we went into Red Robin and they found out it was our first time there. They gave us a free appetizer on the spot. You didn't have to come back and buy two adult meals and all the other strings that come along attached to your free offer. Disappointed customer. And I know I'll get a response that is very standard. Please contact us and explain what exactly went wrong. What we could do better. I just explained...
Read moreI'll be honest off the top. I did not eat here this day.
I took my family to Cape May to celebrate mother's Day and was making it easy back to Central NJ mid afternoon. We decided to stop on for a late lunch. When I asked how long it would take the seat of family of five I was told 25 to 35 minutes. I signed up for text alerts and return to the car where we waited for our notification to come be seated.
At 35 minutes we decided to go in because it couldn't take much longer for them to seat us but when we got in.. we waited and waited and waited.
After about 50 minutes from the initial inquiry.. I asked the hostess for an update and she told me that the party at the table the earmarked for us had already paid and it was just a matter of waiting for them to move on.
My family was getting a little irritated by now, and I admit my usual abundance of patience was being tried.. but I took this as good news that we would soon be seated.
Much to my surprise, somebody else came right behind me and asked for an update on their place in line, and I was shocked to hear the hostess give him the same verbatim answer... The party at the table the earmarked for him had already paid their bill and it was just a matter of them moving on before they would be seated.
I understand that dealing with hungry customers waiting in line can be a challenge.
We waited another 10 minutes... Then the hostess went for a break and another host replaced her. My wife asked him for an update, we were now over an hour and 15 minutes after our initial inquiry, an hour late lunch was turning into an early supper.
Guess what answer she was given?
Exactly the same answer the hostess prior to him had given me, and the other guest whom I had overheard.
At this point, I decided it was time to round my family up and continue our journey back to Central New Jersey where we decided to get takeout and enjoy supper to celebrate mother's Day in our own dining room.
This was a very...
