Awful customer service at this location. Overall, US Cellular as a company is fine to work with but the staff at this location are incredibly unprofessional. I've been to other US Cellular locations and have not had a problem.
Went in about 2 weeks ago since my phone wasn't charging great after the battery got below 20%. We still had 2 months left to pay off the phone so we were just seeing if they could fix it. They actually don't fix phones at their location anymore. We worked with McKayla--she said we could do an early upgrade to a new phone and just pay off the last 2 months of our contract and still keep the old phone. In fact, she even TOLD ME to leave with the old phone so that I could move all my images/contacts/etcs on the new phone. She not only saw me leave with it, but encouraged me to do so. She was rude the entire transaction and kept taking personal calls. Everyone has bad days, so I let it go.
I get a call today that they need my old phone back. You can't upgrade without submitting your old phone. SO they need my old phone back ASAP or I will be charged $500. She did admit she gave us incorrect information. Had we known that, we may not have exchanged the phone. We would have kept my old phone for 2 months because then we would have owned it. It just doesn't make sense. Also, McKayla was very rude again on the phone and did not even apologize or sincerely sound like she felt bad. So now I have to hand in a phone I almost paid off. Awesome.
I spoke to McKayla's manager, Jeremy. He was also very rude and even hung up the phone on me.
We may have made an entirely different decision if we could have, and instead of being apologetic or understanding, the staff has been rude and not understanding. I will never go to this...
Read moreWent with my Aunt to help get her a new phone here. The unlimited plans are not entirely "unlimited". Your 4g speed is throttled down to 1.5 mbps from the start. Most 4g signals range from 7mbps to 12mbps and 4g LTE on Sprint, Verizon or Att at 17mbps to 36 mbps.... big difference from 1 and a half...
A 1.5 mbps speed is a joke. This IS the speed your data runs at from the First second it tries to download. Not after 22 gigs were used.
Would you switch to dial-up to save some money on your home internet bill? The worst part is the wording for the instore flyer that was clearly designed to confuse people. This is NOT 4g speeds. This is a LIMITED unlimited plan ON 4g.
What's next US Cellular? A .20 cent charge for every emoji on the unlimited texting plan???
Side note : Staff were very nice and answered all our questions. Not sleazy like the Verizon store down the road who tried to sell a $90 a month plan when a much less expensive one would have worked for her.
Hopefully U.S. Cellular will fire the clown that thought this up. It's dishonest and written to be deliberately confusing. Got my Aunt a pay as you go plan from another carrier. Now she can Skype with all our family. Something this plan would not...
Read moreHow do I speak to someone in customer service that is here in the States? I keep calling and am told completely different information each time. I cancelled my service 12/4 after being a customer for 30 years. Planned on coming back in a few year - as we needed new phones. I paid my last bill on auto pay 12/2. Showed no balance and no lines. A few days later I no longer had an online account I could access. Then I received a notification of a full bill set to go out for a billing period starting 12/4. The day the lines were cancelled. We stopped the auto payment, as we felt we didn't owe this bill. We received different information from supervisors each time we called. We had to go to the store to make a payment in cash. As we had no other way to pay. We were also assessed a 20$ late fee because we couldn't pay online and had to wait for the store to open. At this point we will never return to US cellular service unless we can get this resolved and get our 280.23 back. We never missed a payment, never late. In 30 years. I am in SE Wisconsin as well. The payment wasnt at this store. But if I could someone to actually look at my account that would...
