Absolutely AWESOME store! It was my first time going to a hobby lobby. It is much like a Michael's craft store, with bonus themed home decor! I was very surprised by the affordability, as there seemed to be sales on every aisle! I found some awesome gifts and adornments for my sons graduation cap, which was what I was hoping to find. In the Star Wars theme section, i found a vintage framed scene fron an orginial Star Wars movie; a perfect gift for my son! Bonus that is was on sale, 75% off...a cool $15 from $60! I also appreciated the Christian items near the front of the store and registers. Bibles, motivation books, and desktop flip over style calenders with daily verses, magnets, etc. I gifted myself the "power of the praying woman," a free stabding flip over motivation calendar with verses ro uplfit, inspire, and consider each day . There wefe tons of gifts near the registers also. The candle section is "bussin" and full of lovely, smelly candles. They have a good 2.5 aisles full of yarn, which I appreciated as an avid crochet lover. The home decor, including poster, framed peices, side tables and shelving, outdoor garden decor, and furniture, was an unexpected but added bonus. If you like a store like Micheal's, you are going to LOVE hobby lobby. The store was clean, well organized, and stocked great! My only qualm was its in Clackamas 🤪. I'm from Portland and wish there was one closer. But I def understand why it isn't. It would probably be put out of business with all the theft portland...
Read moreI want to start by saying that I love Hobby Lobby as a store in general. The deals and discounts are wonderful, the merchandise is cute and I love the variety and quality.
This location in general isn't the best. Their aisles are consistently picked over and they are often missing items for weeks on ends. Not to mention it has some of the most unpleasant employees. They are never helpful when asked and furthermore they don't offer to help. I went in last night and was awkwardly wandering around the flower section looking for something and had a worker come down the aisle. I think it was honestly really obvious I needed help but before I could ask or before she even thought to offer she just says "excuse me" and walks past me. I asked if they had a certain item in stock and she just blankly looked at me and then shook her head and turned around to keep walking. I tried to make a point by very loudly saying "thank you" and then I walked away.
I have worked in retail, it's a bummer I know it is. But you can at least try to be somewhat plesant. A simple "no, sorry we do not, heres an alternative option" or "no sorry we do not, have a lovely day!" goes a long way.
When I went to check out the gal at the register was equally as unpleasant. It's unfortunate that this is the closest Hobby Lobby, I would definitely shop at a different...
Read moreI was absolutely ecstatic to hear Hobby Lobby was opening a store here closer to Portland because the closest one before this was in Albany, and a hassle to even get there.
The products are amazing and I love their pricing. Compared to Michael's, Joanns, Craft Warehouse, this place is more affordable for sure! They don't seem to stock the shelves very often though. I've gone in several times for a specific item their website says they carry, only to find none on the shelf.
The store is clean and organized and I haven't encountered Any rude employees whatsoever. They do have good customer service and the staff seem friendly.
My only complaint would be the Check out process. If you're purchasing a lot at one time, plan to be in line for a good 15 minutes on average. Their system is not automated and the cashiers have to manually enter prices on all your items. They also have to take time to check the sales and to verify what's discounted and what isn't, in order to apply the sale price It takes forever when a cashier doesn't know what's on sale, which shouldn't happen on a Saturday when the sale has been going all week. I definitely suggest an upgrade in Hobby Lobby's pricing and checkout system. It makes a very long trip and is hugely inconvenient for customers and...
