I had the worst experience at Nordstrom Rack Clackamas today. I purchased a pair of work slacks to develop my wardrobe for a new career opportunity I recently accepted. The slacks were $36.97- ! A great deal! Unfortunately, after 1 wash (on cold HANG DRY only) the left hem fell! I went back to NR Clack hoping the Alterations Department would fix the left hem complementary. Unfortunately, they refused and said they would have to charge me. I was confused on why I would be charged for a full hem service when only 1 side required adjusting (not 2 legs as most hem services include). The alterations specialist literally laughed in my face! I decided to NOT have the hem fixed given her bazaar laughter and poor customer service.
I returned to Nordstrom Rack Clack on 03/02 to RETURN the " 1-sided unraveled hem" slacks - primarily because of my rotten experience with alterations. The associate (sloppy appearence and unprofessional) said "we don't return ANYTHING used!". I felt like i was in goodwill in the Broncs... I immediately requested a manager handle the transaction without argument. The Manager In Charge on 03/02 at Nordstrom Rack Clack at 3:30pm approached and informed me they normally don't return washed merchandise. I began to explain my concerns with the faulty hem/product when she cut me off and said "alterations can fix this". I tried to explain my negative prior experience with alterations when the MIC rudely interupted me (again) and said "i was JUST telling you your options. And your Nordstrom card will reimburse you!!!!". I was completely cought off guard and requested the pants be refunded to my card. She rolled her eyes and "huffed". Yes, she huffed.
The " alterations reimbursement" is a complete scam. No, you are not reimbursed... you receive a nordstrom note (with an expiration date) that values the cost of the service NOT your actual cost given card holder interest rates...this is not a credit or reimbursment to your account. This is false advertisement. Now, I have a grave concern that merchandise from the Rack is intentionally manufactured to require alterations in order to deploy the card holder scam.
Anyway, I purchased a work skirt, had my receipt and am a nordstrom card holder disappointed in poor quality products coming from a company that strives to stand behind their "customer service". As a prior Nordstrom employee (management) I am repulsed by the lack of quality service and, furthermore, offensive service. The MIC continued her "crotchety" demeanor throughout the entire transaction. She was not perky, service-oriented, polite or pleasant. Maybe if i was wearning make-up, not in my gym clothes and pretended to have a high pitched over-enunciated voice (like her) she would have treated me with respect as a "VALUED" customer... maybe.
Little did she know my son and I just came from his pediatrician's office where we discovered a potentially malignant mole which requires biopsy. Little did she know how her disregard to customer service stabbed someone when they really needed it most.
I do plan to forward my experince to regional management. Maybe someone will remember Nordstrom core values or at the least recall how to "pretend" to depict a positive professional demeanor.
This is why I drive to Tualatin Rack. This is why I joined google and...
Read moreNot a good experience for sure. Several months ago I bought a suit for a wedding I end up not going to. I always felt the suit was to big on me so I never wore it. I decide to return it but time passed. So this week I called in and I talked to the store. I was told they have 90 days policy but either way to stop by the store. If the item is new sometimes they make exceptions. I was hopeful, I never use it and I had the proof of the purchase. Same evening I stopped by the store, I presented my case but this manager, she was, in my opinion, way to cocky. Why? Because her attitude. She looked at the suit. Looked great, no complain. Then she asked for proof of purchase. Had it. Then she told me purchase passed 90 days. They never take items back once that's expired. She didn't moved an inch from that.
NOW. I do respect policy!
But I still felt humiliated. Very much. Over $350 value. I didn't asked for cash back, happy even with credit in store so I can get anything else that I can use. The manager said to try and sell the suit to resale stores. I felt mocked at.. so I left. I'm not pretending I was spending all my money in this store, not at all. But we did purchase once in a while. Well, I'm not planning to be back at this store anytime soon! Either it was faulty communication in between the staff at this Nordstrom Rack Clackamas or everybody does whatever they want. Depends on the mood of the day. Sad.
I wish you all a better experience than mine. But prepare yourself for everything. I guess at this store is...
Read moreTo the Manager of the Clackamas Nordstrom Rack, While the woman who answered my phone call seemed genuinely concerned and helpful, you were unfortunately not. I was attempting to return a wallet to one of your employees and was trying to obtain some kind of contact information. When you asked the name of the employee, you responded you didn't have an employee of that name before I told you the employees entire name. I can appreciate store policy prevents you from releasing employee's personal information, but certainly there must be exceptions(especially when I have enough info to steal their identity). I also suspect this is work you didn't feel you had to do, and therefore weren't willing to be helpful. Well, I do have their employee ID number, along with the door code for your location, your employee breakroom, and bathroom code, and what I believe is likely an employee log-in and PIN. Did you never consider that having an employees security compromised also compromises your security? The wallet is now with the police, hopefully they'll be able to contact your employee(I don't believe you that the wallet's owner never worked for your store). I would also consider changing...
