The most DEGRADING and DEHUMANIZING treatment by a grocery store EVER! Go to this Aldis on Franklin Ave store if you like being disrespected.
Using a backpack was never a problem until a few years ago when the employees at Aldis on Franklin Ave in Minneapolis started to ask "Can I look in your bag". This is totally degrading and an invasion of privacy. The employees can tell the bag is empty and light as a feather when they lift it, yet they still want to look inside. Plus they have a guard that watches everyone like a hawk and its a small store.
Most people in our building stopped going to Aldis on Franklin because of the way they are treated there. Our building has 145 to 160+ residents and that is just one of dozens of buildings in the area. Are you paying attention Aldis Corporate????!!!
Aldis on Franklin Ave in Minneapolis treats good decent people like shoplifters by asking them if they can look into their personal backpacks even though they are wearing them, never took them off, and the guard is watching them like a hawk. Absolute terrible shopping experience every time I go there and that's why my wife and I went from going there several times per week to now only going every 3, 4, or 6 months and each and every time we are asked "I just need to look into your bag". Wow. We'd rather pay more someplace else that respects us, and so that's what we do.
An employee at Aldis on Franklin told me "We have to look into your bags because this is a high crime area". Well folks, that's code for "There are allot of Blacks, Mexicans, and Muslims that come to our store". For the record, I am white and even I recognize that this is a racist policy of Aldis...
Read moreAldi is a pretty cool little grocery store that you can save some money at IF you know how to shop there, if not, then you ain't gonna save! You see it's all about knowing which products that are cheaper there than other places, and knowing when then stock their shelves with that product. For instance the bread isle, now you can save a ton of money on bread, but it don't matter if the bread is already old, right! So the same goes for produce, there are some things you can get a great deal on at Aldi's but you ain't gonna want those few pennies over fresh vegetables and fruits if you go on the wrong day, right! So the trick with Aldi's is that sure you can save a few dollars but will those dollars be worth saving in the long run if your food ain't that great??? Because let's face it, Also doesn't have the top notch grades of food, and that's just keeping it real with you. Another thing that I don't care for about Aldi's is this silly deal with the carts and ESPECIALLY with the shopping bags!! I quit going there because I was so sick 9f trying to juggle my groceries back to the car 8n my arms because they don't have shopping bags for customers! It's rediculous, they are called shopping bags for a reason, because when people go shopping, that's when they need them, and Aldi's falls very short 9f the goal line for me 8n that aspect as well. But check the place out for yourself and create your own...
Read moreProduce is good, Bakery section is good, wish they had more choices of meat. Overall, it's way better than then wasting your money at Cub Foods. A Cub Foods you spend $150 and you might get like 10 items, if you're lucky. At Aldi's, you're going to have an overflowing cart. $150-$200 is going from produce all the way through the store and Isles to the meat and Frozen section. you're going to get everything you want. I'll go there and spend $35- $40 on just berries, and go purchase everything else, from eggs, yogurt, bread, Pita chips, Pico de gallo, steaks, chicken breasts, salmon, shrimp, Lobster tails, chicken strips and french fries for the kids, French toast sticks, cream puffs, the ingredients for charcuterie boards, a bakery section that has from muffins, to regular bread, Bagels naan, other ethnic foods and products, along with an aisle that has some random household stuff. Laundry detergent, garbage bags, hand soap, candles, air fresheners shower curtains, dish soap, sponges, cleaning products, toilet paper, baby wipes, and sometimes they'll have a special on other household items that they have from rugs to floaties. The only thing is there are some brand name items that you're not going to find. For me, having to grab the couple brand name items that are needed to cook with is a lot more cost-effective than purchasing my entire grocery shopping...
