I don’t care for the Fillmore at all. Unlike Live Nation’s purpose-built venue near Des Moines, the Fillmore has very little actual seating. The standing-room sight lines from the balcony are poor - First Ave does this much better. Either the Fillmore’s house sound is poor or Live Nation botched The Warning’s sound and mix. Further, neither Ticketmaster nor the venue gave appropriate advance notice of The Warning’s heavy reliance on intense strobe lighting. At the Fillmore there was one small sign - which was only visible as you were leaving! I might have given two stars, but they lose one for my migraine. The entry arrangement was bizarre, I can’t imagine leaving several hundred people snaking around the perimeter of a driveway for half an hour in December. I expect a Live Nation venue to be very expensive in terms of everything beyond the ticket, and the Fillmore fulfilled my expectations. I can live with the highly preprogrammed nature of a Live Nation venue show, if I like the act enough - it’s 2025, the days of authentic club performances are mostly gone. But when you throw in a problematic venue, no thanks. I would drive four hours to Waukee, IA for a Live...
Read moreAwesome venue! Went to a 2 day concert and had middle balcony seating for both days which made the experience top notch- and a great view. The balcony seating was well thought out having stadium seating with comfy bar seats and theater seats.
They have multiple bars around the venue which makes getting drinks fast and easy. Bathrooms were easy to find and get to as well. Love that you can order food as well at Trax and bring it to your seat- we had omg Oreos during the show and it was a chef's kiss experience. Price for food and drinks were spendy though- so be prepared
Minor downside- we got tickets for the preshow pass and didn't see where to go for it on the first night so we waited in line outside. Thankfully the line went fast (we got their 1/2 before doors opened) and was in there well before the first act started. The second night someone was selling preshow passes to the line outside so we were able to get in early with our previous bought tickets. It was nice to get inside early and head to the merch table for the headliner right away as opposed to the winding line that happens the...

First off, it costs $11/beer. Almost as much as a ticket service fee from Ticketmaster or LiveNation.
The biggest issue was, there wasn't an adequate soundcheck done before any of the bands, and as a result the sound quality was awful. The lead singer was a great talent, but everyone in our group had a hard time hearing and understanding him. The guitarists sounded muted took away from the experience. The other major bummer was, there was supposed to be a legit opener, but one week prior to the show the group canceled, and instead all that could be found was a solo performance, which I suppose in retrospect set the tone adequately for what ended up being an expensive and...
