DO NOT ENTER NORTHWESTERN IMMEDIATE CARE CENTER IN MOKENA UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET VERBALLY INSULTED AND MISTREATED. My husband and I just had the WORST experience of any medical facility we've ever been to. It started with Nicole, the receptionist at the NM Immediate Care in Mokena, on 07/20/24 at 8:10am. She had a horrible attitude as soon as we walked in. She greeted us with, "What are you here for?" Then she changed the primary phone number we had on file which I asked her to leave as it was because my husband's doctors needed my number as his primary number because he works night shifts and can't answer phone calls. She refused and ended up going over the doctor's request and changed his phone number. Then we got called in by the medical assistant, Kanita (I may be misspelling that). She also had a horrible attitude from the start. Kanita started asking questions and my husband answered at few but then looked at me because he didn't know the answer. I proceeded to answer her and she told me, "He's the patient, so he needs to answer my questions." I explained that he didn't know the reason his doctor switched a medication but I did and that I take him to all his doctor visits and they always allow me to answer. She said, "Well no one has told you, but that's annoying." She called me annoying simply because I was trying to answer the medical questions that my husband couldn't answer. I couldn't believe I was getting verbally assaulted in a medical facility, especially at Northwestern. We got up and left without being seen by the provider. We will never go back to this Immediate Care and I highly recommend against it. We are now at Northwestern ER in Palos and everyone has been wonderful, they are truly professionals here. It seems like the other two staff from Mokena were just picked up off the streets with that attitude. They do NOT belong in a profesional medical setting, especially...
Read moreI went to the immediate care because it was the weekend and I was draining fluid from an incision of a surgery I had. All I needed for a doctor to look at it and tell me if it was infected or not and if I could wait to follow up with my doctor Monday. Francisco Acevedo (nurse Practitioner) came in and was very rude. Without even looking at my problem he said no no go back to see the doctor that did this to you. What you want me to do? I can’t do anything? I then explained why I went to immediate care and I asked if he was refusing treatment for me. His attitude changed. He then proceeded to tell me he was a retired NP but his wife told him to go back to work because he was a little too much at home ( why would he share that information) … maybe trying to be funny, but I went there for treatment not to serve as a counselor. I am not sure what was his problem. I understand people’s personalities can be different, but when you are in a medical facility to help people it should be given to every patient that comes through that door. I have 2 insurances. I was not asking anything for free. Thank goodness for the nurses that were so kind and helpful. Finally he saw my incision and determined it was infected and prescribed antibiotics. All my doctors are at Northwestern. I am happy with my doctors, but will never go to Mokena and deal with that NP. Northwestern has good reputation and having someone like Francisco to represent your facility you will start loosing patients. I am sure I am not the only one that has...
Read moreI work for NM and I went to this ICC to retest for Covid because it was closer to my home as opposed to traveling to downtown Chicago. The service was absolutely horrible. I was terribly sick and they told me it was a 4 hour wait just to be tested. I sat in the waiting area for about 10 mins. Went back up to ask the PSR a question and was ignored. There was a woman who came up after me and the PSR greeted her and answered her questions, all while totally ignoring me and then someone walked in the door behind me and they greeted her, again ignoring me. I finally spoke up and said I'm also a NM employee and I'm just trying to get retested, again I was told its a 4 hour wait still, at that point I left. There was absolutely no diversity and inclusion at this particular site and it was very well noticed. I will never again support, apply or suggest anyone to this establishment. Simply put horrible, I am proud to be a member of NM. The customer care we provide here at the central location is impeccable. I would have never imagined to receive that type of care and behavior from an establishment under the...
