I purchased a Specialized Secteur Triple from Montclair Bikery a little less than two years ago. I had a good experience with my purchase due to the salespeople being very knowledgeable and friendly. I initially went in to buy a Specialized Alleze but after a brief conversation the sales person realized that this was probably not the right bike for me. I was persuaded to test ride both the Secteur and the Alleze. I bought the Secteur. This is the first real road bike I ever had and they walked me through the whole way. When I was shopping around some shops were a little intimidating to a novice. I was made to feel as though I shouldn’t be there if I was part of their community or I was constantly being up sold. I had a specific budget in mind and carbon frames did not fit into that budget, yet most shops kept telling me about all the benefits of it and how I would appreciate it down the road. I heard there was a new owner of Montclair Bikery a few years ago and it definitely shows. I visited them a while back (under previous management) and wasn’t happy. Fast forward almost two years later and I’m still a novice cyclist, lol, I break a spoke on my wheel and somehow got it caught in the chain. The rear wheel immediately locked up on me. Thank God I was going slow up a hill and was able to unclip before it was too late. I managed to get the spoke out of my chain and ride home. I called the bike shop and they were more than happy to fix the bike for me almost immediately. Then they realized I hadn’t had my complimentary tune up and offered to honor it even though I was outside the first year.

A couple of days later I dropped off the bike and they fixed my spoke and fixed my bent rim. They took into consideration the fee because I bought the bike there. They replaced the broken spoke and fixed my bent rim, I even scheduled my bike’s tune up.

After all was said and done I was extremely happy with the service I received at Montclair Bikery from the purchase a couple of years ago to the recent service of the bike. I recently purchased a new bike, and like my last 3 bikes, I counted on the team at the Bikery to help me get the perfect shiny new machine. I had a LOT of questions! That’s just me though, and so had the opportunity to speak with probably the entire staff at one point or another and got really helpful advice from everyone. Dave who owns the place, help me decide on the best frame for my abilities, and got me started with options for all the components. With help from Tammy and Dave and a lot of patience from Anthony, I picked the partz for what I hoped would be a fun bike to ride. Anthony in particular really got me to “think” about details that shaped decisions about component selection that are going to change my thinking on my riding!

Once all the parts showed up, the team in service got my new bike together in short order, Dave C in service has worked on other members of my fleet of bikes, so I knew the build would be perfect, BUT of course I have questions, Ken (service manager) and his team in service, like the team in Sales had all the answers for me. Ultimately, my bike was perfect and all the details taken care of. Now I have an amazing bike that puts a smile on my face whenever I ride it (and often even when I don’t).

As a follow up, I decided to have a full fit session with Anthony (spent a good bit of money for my budget on the bike, should spend a few to make sure the fit is perfect!) The process is a few hours, questions and answers, flexibility tests, pedaling on the bike, video capture, video review, you get the idea! Well after all of that, the adjustments were pretty small (I had a fit done about 2 years ago, so had been using those numbers/measurements), but man, what a difference in the on the bike “feel”! I recently purchased a new Specialized eMTB from Montclair Bikery, and I had a fantastic experience. I worked with Dave, who was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me find the perfect bike for my needs and budget, and he answered all of my questions patiently and thoroughly.

Once I had chosen a bike, Dave and his team assembled it quickly and efficiently. They also took the time to go over all of the functions of the bike with me, and they made sure that I was comfortable riding it before I left the store.
