I had high expectations when I visited this restaurant, but unfortunately, the entire experience was very underwhelming. Starting with the appetizers — nothing about them stood out. The flavors were very basic, the presentation was plain, and honestly, they tasted no different from what you could get at any average Indian restaurant. There was no effort to make them unique or memorable.
Moving on to the entrées, this is where things really fell apart. We ordered two different curries and were specifically told that they would be spicy. Instead, both were overwhelmingly sweet and lacked depth of flavor. There was no balance of spices or richness in the gravies; everything tasted one-dimensional and bland. For a cuisine that is known for bold flavors and aromatic spices, this was very disappointing. It felt like the dishes were adjusted to be overly sweet rather than authentic.
The bread we ordered, Onion Kulcha, was also a complete flop. It was dry, had hardly any onion filling, and didn’t pair well with the curries. Freshly made Indian breads are usually one of the highlights of a meal, but here it felt more like an afterthought. Same goes for Garlic Naan.
Overall, the food quality, taste, and presentation were below expectations. Nothing on the table gave the impression of care or authenticity. For the prices charged, I expected at least decent flavors, but instead, it felt like we were served watered-down versions of what Indian food should actually taste like.
This is not a restaurant I would recommend for anyone looking for authentic or even good Indian food. There are far better places where the flavors are bold, the spices are balanced, and the dishes are made with care. Sadly, this place is just...

If you’re considering dining here, let me give you the most valuable advice upfront: Call and reserve your table ahead of time!
This gem of a restaurant is so popular that it’s almost impossible to get a table on busy evenings (Friday through Sunday) without prior booking – trust me, I’ve learned this the hard way.
As a regular, I can confidently say that this cozy spot serves some of the freshest, most authentic Indian food you’ll find in the area. Even if you’re not nearby, the journey here is absolutely worth it if you’re craving that irresistible burst of Indian flavors. And yes, the prices are refreshingly reasonable – a rare find given the exceptional quality, which surpasses many restaurants in Jersey City or Edison.
The menu strikes the perfect balance between traditional dishes and creative fusion, offering something special for everyone. Combine this with the warm, welcoming staff and the inviting ambiance, and you have a dining experience that’s nothing short of memorable.
I won’t spoil the fun by detailing every dish – the flavors are best experienced firsthand – but here’s a hint: don’t skip the gajar halwa for dessert. One bite, and you’ll be transported back to the sweetest moments of childhood nostalgia.
This year, I’ve brought friends and family visiting from India and across the U.S. to this place, and every single one of them has walked away amazed by the unbeatable taste and quality.

If you’re looking for some amazing Indo-Chinese food in New Jersey, you’ve got to check out Mumbai Maskaa! This place has a great vibe, friendly staff, and food that seriously hits the spot.
We started with the Chicken Lollypop, and let me tell you – they were super juicy and flavorful. A perfect start to our meal! The Chicken Manchow Soup was next, and it was just what we needed – warm, spicy, and really comforting.
Then we tried the Chicken Chilly – packed with just the right amount of heat and perfectly cooked chicken. The Malai Tikka was another winner – creamy, soft, and grilled just right. But the real star of the show was the Chicken Triple Schezwan Fried Rice – a generous portion with loads of chicken, eggs, and veggies, all tossed in that spicy, addictive schezwan sauce. It’s the kind of dish that makes you want to keep eating even when you’re full!
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we ended our meal with a unique dessert – Gajar Halwa with Orange Kulfi. The warm, sweet gajar halwa paired beautifully with the chilled, citrusy orange kulfi. The combination was surprisingly delightful and a perfect way to wrap up the meal!
A big shoutout to Chef Makarand (aka Mac) for whipping up these delicious dishes with so much passion. And hats off to Suraj Patil, who served us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed. You can really see the passion Simson Rodrigues, the owner, has put into this place – it’s welcoming, cozy, and all about good food.
If you’re in the mood for some top-notch Indo-Chinese flavors, Mumbai Maskaa should definitely be on your list. Can’t...
