Fantastic morning kayaking with a rental from this Adventures by the Sea location. Stellar customer service by all three folks I met, especially Joseph. He even pushed me off the beach for a dry start! Great morning on the water with the sea otters. This location is so convenient to kayak towards the aquarium or over to the marina cove. You can even hang out right in the kelp beds and just watch the sea life if you like. Kayak was in excellent near new condition. Seat could use a bit more bum cushion, might be good to bring a seat cushion if you plan to be out more than a couple hours. If you’re visiting Monterey this is a must do! I saw mother otters carrying their babies, harbor seals stalking us while others thrashed fish around as gulls scavenge around them. Massive jellyfish, and have seen dolphins a few days earlier from the shore. I didn’t have much time because I needed to get my co worker to the airport so we paddled the kelp field clockwise up to the aquarium closer to the shore and then returned on the other side of the kelp further out, also taking a detour to the red channel marker to catch all the seals. Super friendly staff! Visited Monterey with my husband for our anniversary. He’s never been kayaking before so we thought this was the perfect chance. We called to see if we could just walk in since we didn’t have a reservation. Since it was a weekday they were slower and we had no issues. It was a beautiful day and we got to see so much wildlife!
