Regrettably, the recent change in management has substantially diminished the quality of the tasting room experience. What was once a warm, inviting atmosphere characterized by genuine hospitality and knowledgeable staff now feels disappointingly sterile and corporate. Particularly concerning is the noticeable decline in customer service, exemplified by the unfortunate dismissal of a highly experienced and beloved server, whose personal touch and familiarity with regular patrons greatly enhanced visits. This shift toward impersonal interactions detracts significantly from the unique charm and community feel that previously set this winery apart. Despite some people's misguided reviews (looking at you Wendy Lefler) Puma Road is the best tasting room in Monterey. I canceled my subscription with a rival winery because I was spending all my time at Puma Road. Whether I'm coming to get work done on a business day or out on date night its always a great experience.
