In any service oriented industry the customer is always king and the ownership of The Closet Works fails to grasp this basic concept. Their motto is as a customer you will be thrilled however they failed the basics of good customer service. In searching for an alternative service provider to outfit my home office and living room with an entertainment center I found The Closet Works on Yelp, Houzz and Angie List. I quickly scheduled an appointment and one of their designers was scheduled to visit my home to discuss my project, designs and take detailed measurements. We spent over 90 minutes in the 1st appointment. Let me start by saying the designer was great and at her request after the 1st appointment i drove 90 minutes to their showroom to see samples and finalize the design. Upcoming finalization of the design I was provided a price for the overall project was which MSRP. Closet Works portrays the MSRP as the price a customer would pay and then subsequently they have a very cleaver marketing ploy where they claim to discount the MSRP 40% and then another 5% of the price. The customer believes they are getting a great deal whereas the MSRP is grossly inflated to begin with. Prior to seeking a closet service provider for these two projects, my living room entertainment center and office, I had bid out the two projects to 6 different custom woodworkers/cabinet makers as I wanted real wood. I quickly learned that real wood products would be cost prohibitive based on my budget and was recommended i select a provider who worked with melamine/particle board which is the speciality of closet providers likeThe Closet Works. When I received the price from Closet Works for this project I quickly found out that their price was onpar to the custom woodworkers/cabinet makers. Like any good consumer i requested to speak with the ownership of The Closet Works and the owner contacted me to discuss my concerns. Rather than trying to address my concerns the owner started to lecture me on his $30 million dollars of sales over the last 30 years and 75% close rate with customers. The ownership of Closet Works clearly is not customer oriented and they made no attempts to earn my business, rather i felt insulted and spoken down to. My strong recommendation would be to find other providers who respect, value and want to earn...
Read moreWe had a great experience from beginning to end for our first project with Closet Works. After our closet completely collapsed due to our own installs and fixes over 30 years, we decided we wanted a "real" closet that would be long lasting and meet all our needs. After looking at several local companies, I took the chance and visited Closet Works out of curiosity one afternoon. I explained why I was there, and was greeted by a very courteous and welcoming young lady who, without any hesitation, showed me around and explained all of what this family-run company does. I cannot say enough about our designer, Jennifer M. She came to our home, spent time learning about our needs and wishes, was very patient and worked with us until we had a design we loved, and made herself available for all our questions and concerns. We never felt like we were just another job. We have a simple reach-in closet - nothing fancy, but she created a closet that we absolutely love. We feel this company really cares about its customers. Finally, the two installers we had were very professional and courteous. After being delayed at a previous job, which was beyond their control, we were assured they would still come no matter the time. They indeed arrived much later than the time window (we totally understood why and was fine with). Here is the only reason I mention this: even though they came later on a Friday night than they probably wanted (in the pouring rain, too), we never felt like they were rushing to finish the install. They took their time to do a clean and accurate job. We were very impressed and greatly appreciated their work. We look forward to our next project with Closet Works. I would definitely...
Read moreWe recently got our closets done by "The Closet Works Inc". Right from the process of calling and setting up an appointment all the way through to project completion, I had an awesome experience. Kyle was came to our house promptly and out of all the other quotes that I have received for this project, Kyle was the only one who was super fast in providing the quote, understood our exact ask and didn't try to sell the standard layout and was willing to customize it as we see fit, was providing helpful suggestions along the way and best of all the price was still atleast 20-25% cheaper than the competitors when my custom size was 50% more than the standard offerings. So if you were to consider a quote with 50% more size requirements, the competitors quotes were many fold higher, some said cannot be done by them. We visited the showroom in PA and were greeted with respect and someone closely assisted us to choose door frames, colors, handles and they had plenty of options to choose. Any changes requested in quote based on showroom visit, Kyle gave the revisions in less than 30mins to 1 hour. They also provide lifelong warranty and the project was built right in front of me in the house by experienced 6 closet builders. They arrived on time and completed the entire project in 3.5 hours. Super fast and cleaned every debris out as well. I highly highly recommend them and I am super happy...
