This review is kind of a mix bag. I have been here a couple of times for lunch. Never for dinner. The hostess was a little on the rude side. She showed us some booths that had torn benches. When asked for another seat, she stated, take what you want. When the hostess offered me a drink, I asked for coke zero. She said we have only diet Pepsi. So, I asked for non-sweet ice tea. The hostess responded in a sarcastic tone, are you sure. I had a coupon that they had mailed out and handed it to her. The hostess said to use it on the way out. Though the buffet selection was fairly large, most of the food on the buffet tables felt like it was left over from lunch. The Hibachi was fresh and I should had went for that instead. The sushi selection was fresh and good. When I went up to pay for our meal, they would NOT honor the coupon they sent in the mail. Their excuse was that the discount was already applied to the bill. The bill had the normal senior discount applied. This is a discount they normally give without a coupon. Bottom line, don't send out discounts coupons for discounts you already give. That is a switch and bait misgiving. On the upside, the waitress we had for our drinks was very sweet. Overall, I like this place much better for lunch then I do for dinner. The staff at lunch is friendlier and the food is much fresher. On a side note, they lunch dining area is a lot nicer than where they seat...
Read moreI've been looking for a good buffet to go to and since this place replaced the NY Hibachi I figured I'd give it a shot. Well let me say it was almost a complete disappointment! The food was very bland tasting and most of it overcooked. I was there at 1pm so still prime lunch time and you'd think it'd be fresh. Not so much. I say almost a complete disappointment because the sushi was decent for buffet type sushi, the cream cheese wontons were good, the pineapple was fresh and sweet, and the fried bananas were delicious! Other than that it was a let down! I usually eat at least 2 plate fulls and I had to force myself to finish even my first plate. The place that was there before at least had some flavor to it and was usually fresh. This new place isn't worth the $11(water to drink) + tip. You'd get a better meal at wendy's or cookout for less and it'd be fresh. Really stinks because I love a good buffet, but apparently I'll have to keep looking because this place won't get another try from me or my family. As a side note, I did not try the hibachi part of the buffet so I can't speak...

I had a very disappointing experience at Ichiban Hibachi Buffet. The place was visibly dirty, and to make things worse, while we were trying to eat, staff were scrubbing the blinds right beside our table. Not exactly appetizing. We placed our drink order, went to get our food, and came back to find no drinks. After asking not once, but twice, they finally brought them out.
As for the food, it was a disaster. My boyfriend took a bite of chicken that was hard as a brick. The crab Rangoon had no crab in it, just cream cheese. The fruit was hard and flavorless, and the General Tso’s chicken was mostly bread with hardly any meat. It seemed like all the food had been left out since lunch, and there was no freshness to anything.
The biggest concern was the self-serve hand scoop ice cream, which raised serious health concerns in such a poorly kept environment. I’m not sure how this place has the rating it does—it absolutely needs to be investigated by the health inspector. I won’t be returning and can’t recommend this...
