AutoZone was really my hero a couple of weeks ago. Was on a road trip with my son celebrating his 18th birthday and my car battery ended up dying and I called AAA who came and started it and then told me I needed a new battery but they didn't have one on their truck so I asked if they had any suggestions and the tow truck driver said oh maybe Walmart in Arroyo Grande could help you but they probably won't put it in. Since we've already been driving a really long time my mind was tired and I wasn't thinking clearly and we made it to our Motel in Morro Bay while I was panicking if we were going to make it alright because the tow truck driver made it sound ominous and that maybe I'd make it 45 minutes. Did a little research found out that AutoZone in Morro Bay had a battery for me and not only that if I bought the battery they would install it. Shame on the tow truck driver I had for not being more helpful when it's a time you really need help especially if you're not from the area. A very nice young man who worked at the store helped me with my transaction from beginning to end and we were good to go to enjoy the rest of our trip. I made a purchase in the Autozone store in Morro Bay and unfortunately the liquid item cap apparently was not on tight. The liquid spilled all over the carpeting on the floorboard of my vehicle and ruined many items. I did not notice the spill until I went to put something else down beside the Autozone item. I immediately TRIED calling Autozone, but after many rings someone just picked up the receiver of the phone and put it back down. They hung up on me without saying a word. I called back and the gentleman that answered the phone was rude when I told him what happened. I told him I was bringing the item back to get another one and he said I could bring it back and he would SELL me another one. He told me it was my fault. He then told me he was going to put me on hold as the store was busy. REALLY?
What kind of customer service is this?? NONE!
My husband took the item back and was given another one and was told that the store manager would call me. The store manager did not have the courtesy to do that either.

Read moreI waited a couple days to write a review for this establishment in hopes I would have something kind to say, unfortunately the experience was far below unsatisfactory and was quite unpleasant, especially considering myself and the company I was in spent over $200 here on Wednesday July 29th, 2020 What should have been a 30 minutes interaction took well over two hours because the salesman chose to attempt to oversell products instead of exchanging a battery that would not work. I simply wanted to exchange the faulty battery I purchased for one that worked. The employee attempted to tell me I needed a new starter or a new alternator, even after the tester battery was able to start my car. Being on vacation, the last desire I had was to spend a couple hours having my intelligence questioned and my requests dismissed.
