I have shopped at dozens of different Home Depots around the country for rehabilitating properties. This new store in Moscow seems to be the most poorly designed store that I've seen, with employees in the home design center poorly trained to adequately perform their job. I'm used to paying a measure fee for jobs, after which a measure happens and estimate given. Now Home Depot here makes you measure and draw everything yourself, and then pay for the whole job upfront before they will even send anyone to measure. At this point, the proper measurements are added, and Home Depot performs a bait-and-switch by requiring you to pay AGAIN for items that were included in the first estimate, but which they then drop out of the record. In this case, after going through this arduous process and paying for countertops with sinks, after measure Home Depot wants to force you to pay for sinks AGAIN. It takes hours of multiple phone calls to get it right, be ause staff are untrained and have little interest in ensuring the job is accurate.
Home Depot seemed to want to throw out every process that worked great, and replace it with new processes that are deeply flawed. I've paid over $350k in jobs like this to Home Depot alone in the last 10 years, and every time that I go back it seems they have made the process more difficult and error-prone. In general, they don't seem to care at all about doing a professional, error-free job.
The contractors they hire to do the actual work are fantastic, but Home Depot gets in the way of allowing them to deliver a pleasant experience. The worst part is that everything they screw up is super easy and they should have mastered 20 years ago.
Also, after spending 4x longer time than necessary to set up a job, they can't support mobile pay, forcing me to drive back to jobsite to obtain a physical credit card to pay. This is a new store in 2025, and mobile pay has been a standard for at least 7 years. Older stores already have this ability.
I will be avoiding this store completely in the future, even if that means having to shop...
Read moreI was thrilled to see a Home Depot move into the Moscow/Pullman area. Their nationally fixed lower prices will finally give Moscow Building Supply an effective competitor. Years ago my Mom was visting from Prescott, Arizona and stated the Moscow Building supply prices were double what they were in Prescott! After decades of ripping off the locals in Moscow it will be a great day when Moscow Buiding supply goes out of business. The Moscow Home Depot has fair prices, is clean and well stocked with extremely helpful staff. Welcome to Moscow, Home Depot, so many local residents who are not extremely wealthy are thrilled to see a brand new store here in our little community. Old money folks are the only ones that are angry with Home Depot. Since the University of Idaho leased the land Home Depot was built on the original owner of Moscow Building Supply was unable to block the building of a competitor as he had done so many times in the past. The store is absolutely beautiful with highly competitive pricing and yes they honor veterans with a 10% discount unlike Moscow...

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this Home Depot was something special. The store was spotless, well-organized, and fully stocked — but what really set it apart was the incredible customer service. Every employee I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely eager to help.
Special shout out to Ben — He went above and beyond to make sure I found exactly what I needed, offered expert advice, and even offered to help load my items. It’s rare these days to find a team so committed to excellence.
If you’re looking for a Home Depot where the employees treat you like a valued customer from start to finish, look no further. This location has set the bar HIGH. I’ll...
