Goodwill Store and Donation Center — Local services in Mount Airy

I went to the store on Sat July 6th and purchased 3 pairs of shorts. Received great customer service!!!! Friendly and smiling cashier. Took them home and tried them on. Only 2 pair fit. On Sunday July 7th I went back to return the pair that did not fit. The store was VERY busy. Yet no one is at the register. So I ring the bell. After a couple of minutes and no response I ring it again. A hateful voice replied “be there in a minute”, as she continued to hang clothes. Mind you with customers waiting to pay. Janice comes to the register and was rude to say the least. Told me to sign my receipt and call on the intercom for a manager. I felt like a total bother. I moved out of the way so other customers could pay. The manager on duty comes up and complains because she can’t read my writing. Then complains because she’s in a hurry. I get my 4.27 refund and leave. But I intended on shopping more until the awful service. I’ll never shop...

Gotta say,iv been to ALOT of Goodwill stores especially within the last year given I'm a single mom of 4,and need their low prices! However this particular store,doesn't just have EVERYTHING you could possibly need for 4 kids and re-doing an entire home,but the staff alone are amazing!!! Very friendly,helpful and even when line is incredibly long,they get ya in and out.I have found furniture with tags up to 2,000$ and bought there for less than 15 and thats no joke! I'm attaching photos with this review of just my living room to show every bit of furniture you see,i got there(everything including wall decor(exception of wall decals and couch cover)even the cute green ottoman!) SO-i honestly came here with nothing,and made my entire living room alone for less than 50$ not to mention the staff helped me load my furniture! If i could give 10 stars,id...

The store itself is a wonderful store. They have all the clothing items, she's, anything you would need for a decent price. However the customer service is horrible! I just called last night to see if they were open and they gave attitude about it like yeah we're open, and then when I say thank you, their response was whatever. That was a man last night. Today I called, and asked if they had a pair of nice slacks or a suit. The woman said yes they do, so I say thank you, then she just slams the phone down and hangs up. you can tell it was slammed by the sound. Shopping there, is great. I do however believe, whoever worked the night of March 16, 2025 and the morning of March 17th, 2025, should at the least be spoken too about that.
