I live hubby Libby it’s a shame is one go these employees or managers just ruin the experience . I’d expect that from Joann’s but not here. Every time I come and I’m guessing a female manager is working she follows me around the store or has people follow me like I’m doing something wrong.. every time they see the stuff I purchase.. it’s bad enough to now I’m writing a review about it because I’m pretty much to the point of throwing all the stuff I’m trying to buy at her the next time it happens .. like today she came in and saw me and was very unprofessional and scoffed because when I shop I don’t just bring everything I decided not to get to the front or throw it on the shelf because I don’t want to make extra work for people . So I’ll dwindle things down to what I’m getting and put back what I’m not. this is one of the only times I come out of my house because I’m disabled and not working .. and she has just ruined it for me.. I’m pretty upset at this point that I’m treated like a theif everything I go into this store that I’m not even excited anymore . I’m the type of person who if I see someone’s phone laying in an isle I’ll let someone know so someone doesn’t steal it or if something has fallen on the ground or is out of place on another item I’ll pick the stuff up or correct where it goes… thanks for ruining the only fun I get to have hobby lobby.. I will say there is a very sweet girl that works here tho that is extremely helpful and made one of my outings fun. She seemed like she likes her job and she seemed more than a regular employee.. maybe a possible lead or an assistant manager.. if the other lady was gone and she was manager I’d b there.. if it wasn’t for this experience I would give gumbos stire 5 stars.. u would think a manger would appreciate me putting the stuff Back I don’t want or time being selective so I’m not returning things would be...
Read moreI am a knitter/crafter and love that Hobby Lobby sells good quality DK (size 3 sport) and sock (1-2) yarn in decent color varieties. Their brands are not the same old repeat of what Joanne's, Michael's, or Wal-Mart sells. Those stores seem to stock mostly larger size yarns, like the common worsted (4) and bulky/chunky sizes (5/6). So it is refreshing to find a local Hobby Lobby selling a different size, color, and style selection from the other stores.
They also have a larger selection of craft and art supplies than the other stores I mentioned above but you have to wade your way past all the seasonal junk and household decorations first. They do carry fabric and sewing supplies but the selection is not nearly as large as Joann's, mostly cotton or cotton blends but just like the yarns, the fabric colors and prints are unique to their stores.
They are NOT open on Sunday's so this could be a problem to some who only have busy weekends to shop or if like me you tend run out of your favorite color yarn on Sunday afternoon.
Their prices are reasonable but I am not sure if they now accept credit cards, as it was their policy at one time not to accept them. So take cash for your first visit or call first to inquire if that policy has changed. Like the otjer craft stores, they have a web site, so you can sign up to receive percent off coupons.
The aisles are wide and they seem to keep the clutter to a minimum, staff is helpful and cheerful. I was in there a few days ago, heard a lady a few aisles over hollering, "Can somebody help me here?", just seconds later a staff member...
Read moreMy sister and I went in looking for charms for bracelets that we make during Christmas time. We spent probably 2 hrs in the section alone looking at all of them. They're all so beautiful, so we took our time looking for the perfect ones for our family. 3 different people (employees) came to the section looking in the area. At first we thought they were just doing their job, making sure things were stocked properly, whatever they do. It wasn't until the last employee came over asked us if we needed help with anything. My sister replied and as my sister is talking to her, she is looking directly into my purse and the items that were in our cart. I asked her why she was looking in my purse and no answer. I then asked if she was sent over to make sure we weren't stealing. She responded with, " no mam, I am just making sure you don't need anything") Just weird behavior. Like, who looks into someone's purse, man?? We then knew that they were discriminating against us. We put everything back (almost $200 worth of items) due to the mistreatment. Never have I ever experienced anything like this. We will NEVER come to this location again. I've been coming to this hobby lobby for years and it's just sad that they profiled us when there was absolutely no reason for that. Y'all need...
