Schirmer Insurance Group, LLC — Local services in Mount Pleasant

Used Schirmer since I bought my home in 2013.

Received a letter of non-renewal from my homeowners insurance months ago. Having never received one of these letters I called Schirmer Group and was told there was nothing I needed to do and that they'd shop around and get me on with another insurer for my home before the current one lapsed. Trusting them, I forgot all about it until today when I realized my homeowners insurance had in fact been expired for nearly 2 weeks and I had received no communication from Schirmer Insurance Group.

I called Schirmer group and explained, spoke to Sass Schirmer, who again assured me he'd have something over to me "within the hour" in regards to a new homeowners policy. This was 3 hours ago and I have still received nothing from them.

I was also never offered any kind of apology for letting my homeowner's insurance lapse like this even after I called and was told that it would be handled and to not worry about it. What if something happened to my house and I needed homeowner's insurance? What if I still had a mortgage that required homeowner's insurance? Our homes are our biggest investments---but that doesn't matter to this company. I will take my insurance needs elsewhere to a broker that actually values my time, money, and loyalty.

Finally, as a local business owner I would never treat one of my own clients so poorly---especially if they had been with me for over a decade....

Once again Traci came through when no one else could!

I have worked with Traci for years and have always received great service, timely responses, and a feeling that she was there to help me and not sell me. It is very rare to find someone in her position that truly wants to help their customers and is proud of the service they provide. Traci is wonderful exception.

She recently found me the best value on Home Insurance when everyone else wanted me to buy more than I needed. She took the time to explain what everything meant on not just her policy but on competitors quotes. She wasn't explaining things to me like I was an industry insider. Traci broke things down in a way that was digestible to the regular person and really gave me an education. I can not understate how much I felt valued by her, as well as the comfort of having an agent that you know you can rely on. This is a relationship that I intend to keep for as long as insurance is a thing.

I'm not saying its a life changing experience, it is however a continuing peace of mind to know Traci and SIG is...

Got some some really bad, erroneous information from one of the agents at this business and it COST MY 85 YEAR OLD MOTHER $1009.29. Sam Schirmer, one of the owners said he would look into it and review the recording of the conversation and get back to me. Never did, I had to make several calls to finally speak to him. He said he listened to the conversation and it was not as I stated. I said lets listen to it together so I can believe what he claims. He said he would not do that as I was not his Client. I said his client, my mother, is standing next to me and lets listen together. He refused, offered no alternatives or solution to this situation, continued to obfuscate and basically told me to pound sand. I called him a liar and it certainly appears that that is the case given these facts. It is extremely unfortunate but apparently I will be needing an attorney in this matter.
