We booked a segway tour only one day in advance for 10 am. That morning, temps were in the low 40s! Our guide, Cliff, texted me to say we were his only tour that day, so if we wanted to push the time to later in the day when it would be warmer, we could. That was so awesome since he technically could've canceled. The website did say that if the minimum tour group size was not met, the tour could be canceled. We rescheduled for noon, and my husband and I got a private tour! So much fun! Cliff was patient while re-training us on operating the segways (we have taken 3 other tours over the years). I learned a few new tricks, which definitely helped! We signed up for the two hour tour, so we went throughout the Old Village and town of Mt Pleasant. Cliff was a great guide. Stopped at so many picturesque places while learning lots of things about Charleston. The stops are primarily the homes in the area, many of which have historical significance. I love looking at old homes and was quite impressed. My husband was most impressed with all he learned about the town. We were so glad we got to take this tour. Cliff was great, and riding the...
Read moreI cannot recommend this Segway tour enough. Iâd never been on a Segway before, was a little dubious about it, but LegarĂ© was very patient, charming and just downright fun when teaching us how to get about and I got comfortable in no time. My husband had previous knowledge and LegarĂ© was great about adjusting his instruction from my extremely nervous level to not bore my husband. If youâre worried because of skills, donât let that hold you back!
Now, the tour itself was deeply fascinating! We did the longer 2 hour tour and had the benefit of LegarĂ© as mentioned above. He was a wealth of knowledge about everything from the obvious history, to the architecture, to the modern film scenesâand the unexpected bonus is that he has these incredible roots and knows all the current residents to be able to even give quick run downs on current events. Shockingly he was even able to answer my stray botanical questions (now I know about live oaks!) Honestly I think youâd get the benefit out of doing this tour at least a couple of times itâs so history/ knowledge dense. If youâre wondering about it, definitely...
Read moreThis was my 2nd segway experience and it far exceeded my first, which was enjoyable. They only had 4 of the smaller on-road Segways which I thought were much easier to manipulate. We had five people in our party so I was offered an e-bike and it was actually really fun! Our tour was given by the owner. He was very communicative, respectful, and lighthearted. Unlike most similar services, we could've gotten a refund if it rained, which eased my mind about making the reservation. He worked with us and extended a time slot that suited us better. He gave us some history along the tour but offered to keep the info minimal if it wasn't my kids' thing. He was patient and let us enjoy the segways quite a bit in 2 open areas, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I brought 3 older kids and they all loved it! I'd highly recommend this as a fun, different activity with your...
