I only give this a 4 star rating because of the lifeguard Olivia. The way she handled the overall situation and explained certain things and policies turn this one star to a 4 star. I have been coming to this pool and park since start of summer 2021. My 2 children 7 and 4 years old love this pool. Recently this weekend when only my daughter & I were there a situation had arisen. Mind you we've been coming every Saturday and Sunday since summer started this year we were the same floaties as every weekend we sit in the same spot and we stay for the exact same amount of time. We were told today that the arm floatation device my daughter was wearing are not allowed in the pool as they are not ocean coast guard certified approved. We're also told that if my daughter had not passed a swim test she was not allowed in the pool.... Now at this point today I've had 3 different lifeguards approach me and tell me 3 different things 3 different rules and regulations to which they were trying to enforce. Happy to oblige I pull my daughter out of the pool pull her safety flotation devices that will allow her not to drown, off of her arms and we exited the pool. Olivia stepped up and talked to us for a few mins tried to explain there is a Huge lack of communication between all of the lifeguards. She agreed that there needs to be more training and better communication.
I have no problem buying new life jackets new life floats and following any and all rules. I do have a problem with you enforcing rules when you want to and not every time. Furthermore, Every lifeguard should be aware of all current policies and regulations. All 800 employee lifeguards should be on the same page.
@ the risk of sounding like a Kevin or Karen here I should probably stop. But unfortunately I'm still quite upset with the attitude that the Underage lifeguard Gave me, the words he chose to use. This being a family environment family establishment Every employee employed at this establishment should treat it as such. Even after all was sent done the Under age lifeguard that initiated the confrontation refuse to apologize. If you are adult enough to use Vulgar language you You should be adult enough to understand when you've made a mistake and apologize to...
Read moreI have been a local swim instructors in the area for many years now. I am still confused on the limited hours they are open for lap swim etc especially for a highly affluent area. After how paranoid this area was regarding covid...neglecting the fact that some of us only have homes that are only 420sq ft with 1 window and no personal outside space, I have never been so desperate to swim laps. Unfortunately my community pool might as well be a private club with how they run. Its crazy to have been in such high demand for my services to help familys with their swimming only for this area.to overlook the high demand. Another reminder that I need to leave the area. With santa clara swim center being a repeat offender in embezzlement but don't bother to upgrade anything in their famous international center to patiently waiting for my community's substantially sized public pool to finally start running like (only to never...might as well be an HOA...
Read moreI had an excellent experience. I went for the first time today for recreational swim and it was clean, organized, reasonably priced, fun, and well run. The recreational swim area is great for kids beginners those in training and lap swim lanes are good for moderate to advanced swimmers. There is a pace clock and diving boards for lap swim. Just FYI the recreational swim and lap swim have different hours. Families and kids and summer school programs can make great use of the facility. There was plenty of lifeguards on duty and helpful staff and clean good shower changing rooms the pool was a good temperature. Certainly an asset for the City of Mountain View. They do hold events like Friday night family party themed nights. Highly...
