Terra Outdoor Living — Local services in Mountain View

My experience with one employee was so frustrating and embarrassing working on behalf of a client, I feel compelled to write review. In early May I ordered about $3K of furniture. Unbeknownst to me, said employee forgot to note the color, which resulted in missing one small umbrella on delivery (no one thought to call and rectify at any time). In June, after calling, was told warehouse had one and would send right out, assumed all was fine. Then it was late July, never got any follow-up, again, had to do all the calling. For sure umbrella would come on a Thursday, she waited all day, but again no show, no calls. By then client was compelled to call on Monday,- had had enough and wanted refund. Just excuses by Terra, who then told the client she would need approval for a refund! I would have expected Terra to personally deliver that small umbrella weeks ago WITH a refund. Weird place.

We went in at 5:50pm to check out their chase lounges, specifically to make sure that their “quartz gray” color fits in with the rest of our outdoor decor.

Their three employees (2 males, 1 female) ignored us. My husband said hello, and one responded with a curt “hello”. No other acknowledgements, not even a glance or a smile, or a “just fyi — we’re closing soon”. We went to look at the chaise lounges as planned, then walked back out, and were back on the road by 6pm.

Zero customer service provided. Snooty vibes. Unwelcoming. Were the workers at this store having a bad day, did they hate each other, or did we not look posh enough for them? Dunno, but when I need more outdoor furniture, I’ll check out the Los Gatos or Burlingame store instead. 1 star for the nice furniture, and I guess 1 star for keeping the door...

Staff is very friendly. Didn't feel pressured as we were browsing and trying to think about how the patio furniture would potentially fit in our yard. There is a pretty varied selection and prices seemed pretty reasonable, though we did go during Labor Day sale. However, I think full price for the items we looked at still seem pretty reasonable, especially compared to other overly expensive stores. I would go back for other outdoor furniture as we work on building out...
