I used Bella Blow Dry for my hair and makeup for my wedding, along with my 7 bridesmaids. The whole process was unorganized from the start. Shortly after signing my contract, the business was sold, but I was reassured that my contract was still valid and I had nothing to worry about. I went in to have my hair and makeup trial one week out from my wedding date and it was obvious that the artist doing my hair and makeup did not know what she was doing. Admittedly, my hair did look okay, but it looked nothing like the picture I brought in for a simple half updo.
My foundation was the wrong color, and none of it was blended. The makeup artist told me that one of their other stylists was doing a wedding that day, and she took the "best" makeup with her, so she had no other options. She used little to no blush/bronzer, so everything looked flat. When it got to my eye makeup, nothing was blended properly, and my false eyelashes were placed far away from my lash line. She refused to curl natural eyelashes stating, "it's not good for them," so my real lashes did not blend with the false lashes. She also did not know how to do winged eyeliner, so after multiple attempts, we settled on no winged liner. The eyeliner I was left with was messy. I asked her to set my makeup multiple times, but she sprayed the setting spray in the air, and refused to set my makeup properly, or with powder. She also discouraged me for complaining about her work by telling me she will simply refuse to work with guests who complain.
I later called and spoke with the owner who asked me to come back and have another trial with another stylist (Celeste), and she did an excellent job. The owner also told me at the second trial that she would be providing mimosas and a charcuterie board for my bridesmaids and I.
Fast forward to the day of my wedding. The stylists were not on time. One single bottle of champagne was provided with dirty champagne flutes. No snacks, or charcuterie board was provided. Luckily we bought snacks just in case.
Celeste did a great job with both my hair and makeup, but the other stylist doing makeup did not. We ended up completely redoing the makeup of several bridesmaids when we got to the wedding venue, after stopping for additional supplies. When I discussed my dissatisfaction with the salon owner, she offered me $150 back (for my group I spent almost $2k for hair and makeup), or three free services to be used before the end of the year.
Although everyone's hair did look great, I would not recommend anyone go to this salon for their wedding or any special event. They were hard to work with, did not fulfill their obligations, and I would have preferred to just do my own makeup and the makeup of my entire...
Read moreI came to this salon for the first time today. I waited almost 10 min after my appointment time (9 am) because the salon was closed and the stylist was late. Ally did my hair and though she did a beautiful job on my blowout, I feel I was cheated and she was not upfront about the costs.
I came there “booking” the appointment for a $45 blowout. I was charged $60.
When I mentioned not finding a good foundation shade, Ally said a bunch of clients canceled and she could try different foundations after our appointment. Since I had looked on their website, I knew foundation was $25.
I already mentioned to Ally I wanted lashes. I was fine paying for them but because she was rushing, she didn’t put them on properly, the glue was showing throughout the day and the lashes started lifting off my lid within a few hours. I called her and she said to come back, which I couldn’t do at that point. I was then told to go buy eyeliner and lash glue and fix them myself.
I told her I had an appointment at 11 so didn’t have much time after my blowout. Since she started 10 min late, she finished around 10:10. She did a good job on my foundation and added some concealer and blush. NO eyes and NO lips. When she rung me up she charged for FULL FACE MAKE UP. I was confused so asked her how much is eye and lips. She said it was extra on top of what I paid, which seems to be false from what is advertised on their website. Again - cheated.
Since I was rushing to leave for my 11:00 appointment, I saw the receipt properly later and saw my blowout was charged at $60 when their website says $45. She also charged me for FULL FACE MAKE UP which I definitely didn’t get in the express 30 min make up of mainly foundation.
Lastly, I should not have been charged or should have been refunded or offered some compensation for lashes that didn’t even stay on for 2 hours!
I have been cheated and swindled by this company. Unless they make it right and then some,...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about Bella and the women here--I had the most wonderful experience! I brought my bridal party, mother, and mother-in-law for hair and makeup prior to my wedding earlier this month. Many of them came from out of town, and it was my hope to have a few hours of quality time prior to the wedding to be together and have fun. I still am unsure how the women at Bella were able to coordinate all 12 of us getting hair and makeup done within the 3-hour timeframe, but they did it! Everyone had such a blast and left with gorgeous hair/makeup that stayed until after the wedding festivities ended, nearly 12-hours later. I can't emphasize enough how sweet, funny, and supportive the women at Bella are. I was struck by how many positive and affirming compliments everyone was sharing throughout the experience--talk about women empowering women. Also, there were many hugs on the way out!
Seriously, though, Christine handled our group so incredibly well and checked in just often enough to make sure the morning was running smoothly. The stylists made everyone feel like their most beautiful selves. We had an amazing experience and I would recommend Bella to any bride looking for a lovely start to their...
