I get it the place was packed busy. Service wasn't the issue. I expected to wait about an hour so I was prepared for that. I was told 30-40 min., it was closer to 55 min. No biggie they were busy. My issue however is the quality of the product. Crust had potential. Sauce was good. The toppings were another thing. They didn't drain the veggies of any of their juices. Our pizzas were so wet it was virtually inedible. The ham was cubed which I'm open to but it didn't work in my opinion. It was like putting cold breakfast ham and veggies on a pizza. All diced and just wet. I ordered a 5 meat and got a special order pizza. I normally would have called back and requested proper product but again they were really busy. It happens I get it but at least pump out a quality product. They center loaded the pizza which on top of the juicy toppings left the center of the crust nasty. We are from out of state so we probably won't have time to try it again. But really disappointed.

I been lucky enough to travel alot and i have to say this place is definitely a gamble. They have a note saying if we don't answer the phone is because they are busy. The pie should have spent more time in the oven and toppings should have been spread out more. The amount of topping they give you is alot but they also charge enough for the toppings. The young lady who was making the pie should spend more time working than smoking pot with her friends truck or invest in vaping. The whole place infront smelled badly of weed. The dough itself while undercooked had good flavor and sauce was very good. I highly recommend you double check your subs because I was missing ingredient even though it's listed on the menu. It's sad to see a local place this bad. I know this is a tourist area but the locals should be able to find a good pizza pie.

Despite some negative reviews we decided to give Main Street Pizza a shot tonight. I arrived just after 7pm on a Monday night. They were clearly pretty busy. It probably didn't help that the other pizza place seems to be closed on Mondays. There are a lot of negative reviews about getting through on the phones. They do have a sign up stating that if they don't answer it's because they're busy. If you're close, it's probably best to place your order in person. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a calzone in person. We ran to the grocery store and it was ready when we got back in 30min. Both were quite good. Other than the employee's attitude/shortness with customer's, the food was good. It's obvious they are short staffed, so give them a break and have appropriate expectations before placing an order.

The food is great. The phone availability, however, leaves a lot to be desired.

They rarely pick up the phone. Sometimes it just rings.... and rings... and rings. Sometimes it rings and - when they finally pick up - you are almost immediately disconnected (whether accidental or intentional, I am not sure). One day we called and it went to a recording that told us to "enter your access code." When we drove up there, they were closed. Double checked the business hours and confirmed... yup, supposed to be open. We were in the area for two weeks and were only able to actually get someone on the phone and place an order once (though we tried numerous times).

If we hadn't been there a few years ago and remembered how much we really enjoyed the food, we would have certainly passed them over (at the time, we had just randomly picked it and waited an eternity to get through the wall to wall moshpit of people [though everything was busy that day, as it was 4th of July]). Trust me, I know they can get busy (which is why we tried to place orders by phone), but there has got to be a better process for phone orders... ANY other process, really, would be better. I honestly wouldn't even care if someone just picked up, took the order, and had to tell me it would be ready in two hours. The way it currently is makes it feel as though you've found an outdated listing or as though they really don't want you to place an order. Why bother even having a phone if no one is ever going to pick it up?

The food is, however,...

We are in the area camping, up from the metro detroit area. Spent the day driving and was looking for a spot to stop for a quick bite before driving back to the camp. We walked in and spent a minute or two looking at the menu, during which time the gentleman working made eye contact at least twice but did not acknowledge us. When we were ready to order, it took him several more minutes before asking, "Do you want to order?" which we did, and we got a medium Street Special. The worker told us that it would be 35+ minutes and almost seemed annoyed when we agreed. We walked around the area while we waited. It was the 35 to 40 minutes he said. When the pizza came, it was well topped, and every ingredient was fresh. We were happy with the food. However, as we sat eating, we could hear the staff complain about every order they got, and even went as far as turning away a guest. I am sure it was a busy day for them as it was father's day and Sunday, but they had 4 staff members on, and it just didn't sit well to hear that from the place we are spending money. If we were in the area again, probably wouldn't come back, sure we could find a place that was happier to have...

I'm originally from Munising so whenever I'm in town visiting family a stop at Main St is a must. It's, unfortunately, gone downhill the past couple of years. I love the pizza still but the service is awful. They can't handle how busy they are. I stopped in right when they opened on a Sunday. The counter kid had zero idea what he was doing and another guy in there looked ready to lose his mind. I understand they are busy and maybe understaffed but yelling at one another in front of customers and it taking an hour to get my pizza order when I was the second person to order that day is ridiculous. I saw many natives of the town go in and out with pizza quickly. Perhaps if they knew me by sight as not a tourist, I wouldn't have watched my last pizza go in the oven 45 minutes after I ordered. As I finally had the pizza and was packing up my car, angry guy was outside smoking complaining loudly to someone that "no one has anything else to f*ing do but order pizza on a sunday!?" I'll keep coming back because, let's face it, main st is a Munising institution. But I really hope they get their crap together with...
