In preparation for a 4-day backpacking trip, my son and I arrived a day early in Munising. We needed some dinner but I have a pretty significant gluten allergy. Today happens to be a Monday, and nearly all of the restaurants that offer gluten-free food are closed on Mondays. Someone at the Farmers Market suggested Tacopotamus, as I was out of options. I spoke with the chef, and we made a plan for him to make me a dish that was reasonably free from gluten and cross-contamination. They brought out my order, and it was delicious! But it seemed to be missing the protein that the chef and I had discussed. When the gentleman who took and delivered my order stopped to ask how the food was, I mentioned the lack of pork. At that point, he told me that they had given me the wrong meal!!! I immediately stopped eating it and made a plan to address the reaction that would follow a gluten exposure. Before we left, the chef came out to our table, extremely apologetic. He explained what happened, made me a new dish as it should have been, and refunded my entire meal. It's unfortunate that this mistake happened at the expense of my health, and I suggested that should something like this occur in the future, that they notify the customer IMMEDIATELY once it is discovered. But what I tasted of the food truly was delicious, and the chef did his best to make this right. I would absolutely give it another try if I were local. (I did react to the wrong order, but I was able to address it quickly enough that it resolved within a...

I had been wanting some Mexican and had planned to come here a few days ago and it just didn’t happen but today was the day and let me say… I regret not coming here WAY sooner. The way I ate it would have been embarrassing in public, you see the size of that and I’m not joking when I say it was less then 15 minutes and it was almost completely gone with the acception of a few bites for later. I then had their Raspberry Cheesecake Chimie and that was superbe. I just wish for $3 they would be bigger then maybe 4/5 bites but at the same time, it’s great if your craving something sweet and honestly I’d come and get that alone just for how insanely good that is. Maybe take home with a small bowl of vanilla ice cream and you’re golden.

Since I took it back home and didn’t really look around, I can’t exactly speak for the atmosphere inside. The deck/porch looks great though and honestly I want to come some time when the suns going down and the deck lights are on. Music was fine… sounds like it’s on the Today’s Hits radio station which isn’t my favorite but hey with everything else it’s amazing so I could care less about the music. I’m excited to come back...

So good we had to come back!

My wife and I stopped in randomly on our way up to Copper Harbor from under the bridge. It was Sunday afternoon lunch hour and the place was very busy. It did not take long to place our order, and even with how busy it was the food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. It was absolutely delicious! So good we had to stop again on the way back downstate the following Sunday. We got there shortly after opening so there was no lunch rush yet, and everything came out excellent once again.

Dee was working the counter both times and did a great job explaining options, getting orders out to tables, and even answering some silly questions with grace and patience (apparently reading a menu that describes everything that is on an item is very difficult for some people).

We had four or five different things over our two trips, and everything was great. We'll definitely make it a point to stop by anytime we are...

What a great little gem! The short version: Amazing quality food, great value. We had our food within 5 minutes of ordering, fantastic flavors, and it’s easy to spend under $15. The quality exceeded anything we have experienced outside of Mexico. Loved the atmosphere, a fun music playlist, the deck is amazing. It’s wheelchair accessible. Only one small bathroom (clean). There are some vegetarian options but I didn’t see any vegan options. Also, no beer. Environmentally, I appreciated the minimal packaging but there is room for improvement, such as getting rid of styrofoam and plastic forks. I dined with a couple of friends, who would also like to add: “Fabulous, food, setting, and staff.” “It’s legit! Awesome! Great food! Quick service!”

A simple burrito place. Had a decent selection at a marked up vacation spot price. It is an open diner with not much inside to look at. I had the pork burrito with the quest on top. Family had a salad bowl, the chicken and beef tacos and surfin joe burrito and chips with salsa. The chips with salsa, chicken taco And the burritos were good with good with great portions. The beef taco and the salad bowl were not good. The taco meat was poor quality making it taste rancid. The salad was overly saturated was sauce. It was a 1000 island type sauce which was too much for the salad. We will most like not come back to this place
