I ordered online for the 1st time with GFS since my spare time was limited today. Placed my order @ 7am , I got a email right away saying order was su successful and would be ready at 9am and I would receive a email and a text when ready to pick up.I headed that way at 9am, arrived in their parking lot at 920am, waited until 950am, still nothing. Went in, nobody at the service desk, one cashier waiting on customers, finally a very young woman arrived and said she was the manager. I told I ordered online at 7am and showed her my phone with my order number, she looked it up and she said it has been picked and she wasn't sure why I had not been contacted, she apologized and said she would go retrieve it . 15 minutes later I see her pushing around a cart filling my order ! When she finally finished she said one item was not in stock and another item was 1 short. I informed her when I ordered at 7am it verified that all items were in stock and now my order is short because they failed to fill it when ordered, she only offered a apology and said I would not be chadged for items not filled. Never offered a replacement item and refused to give me a store credit on items not filled, she apologized and walked off after I told her I would contact corporate. Read moreThey must have had a turn over in Management staff because they are not friendly at all. Previously when I picked up items to charge to the company I work for when the Manager would come to the register for an override they would always say good morning, etc. The ones they have now just scan their badge and never acknowledge you are a customer. I have been so put off with them that I utilize Sysco twice a week now and order 1/2 of the budget I normally ordered from GFS. If I owned the business, I wouldn't utilize their services at all. I will give a Kudos to Emily who's always pleasant and friendly. Most of the cashiers are like zombies starring into space while you wait for the Manager to get to the register for an override, very awkward. Today a young man was at one register and I was at another one so I asked him if he was open and he pointed to another worker and said, that's her register. Not, no but I can take you at this register. Service barely exist anywhere, anymore...
Read moreI will not be patronizing this store, or any other GFS store, in the future. I was taking my time deciding on what I wanted to buy, and apparently something about my person made employees "uncomfortable" as I did my shopping at a leisurely, but reasonable pace. Who knew that a polo shirt and slacks that one could wear to a respectable white-collar job made you a shady individual? After my purchase, I was asked by an employee on behalf of management not to "hang around so long" because it, as mentioned, made the employees "uncomfortable". I do not appreciate their discriminatory practices in store, and was unaware there was a "time limit" to how long one can stay in this public store before they are classified as a threat, and as such I cannot recommend this store chain less. I highly encourage you not to patronize them, and do your commercial and personal shopping at other establishments...
